Re: Dirty Gertie at number 30

Hi all, new to the site.

Worst one ive come across was when I went to look at a tumble dryer in an old peoples home (out of guarantee). One of the old dears had had a number two accident in the night, got up, made her way to the laundry room and put the dirty sheets in what she thought was the washing machine! In the morning they found the tumble dryer had spread the sh*te all around the drum!! They kindly asked if I could remove the drum and give it a clean!!
    I kindly refused.

    Hello

I think F24 is a blocked pump/drainage issue, check in your manual it will tell you how to check the pump, if that doesnt cure the problem and it is under warranty i would advise you give bosch a call

    🙂

Cornfield, I dont seem to remember saying you should be grateful for anything, but it is certainly the last time I will be taking time out to offer you some very educated advice!!
I didnt realise that expensive products didnt go wrong, makes you wonder why they even offer a two year warranty (which is already over and above the normal year) if they never fail!! I was not being naive, merely pointing out a simple fact that things do go wrong! I have a question for you, if you have so much experiance in the industry regarding your so called ‘planned obselence’ then why are you so shocked that it has gone wrong? surely that would be the norm if what you say is anywhere near true!

Why ask the question if you dont want an educated answer? If the appliance was unsuitable for purpose it would not have cooked your food for the last two years and 6 weeks. Appliances are NOT designed to go wrong just outside of warranty as some people claim, unfortunatly in this not so perfect world, things go wrong and need repairing… Good luck with your retailer.

There are a couple of things it could be. Simplest and cheapest for you is that the childlock has been activated, the book should tell you how to switch this on and off, or it could need a damn good clean around the control areas (even if it looks clean, it is worth 10 minutes) Otherwise it is in need of at least 1 of the internal P.C boards.
As for your other question, the fact it is just out of warranty is plain unlucky, nothing more nothing less.
If the cleaning or childlock solution does not work then I would suggest booking an engineer to undertake the work. (the parts are not cheap).
