They probably didn’t show Martin because they knew they would get some flak or confrontation from individuals, or have a guilty conscience over the way in which they’ve handled this.

    Good afternoon

Today is my last day at Qualtex due to redundancy.

Many thanks for entrusting your business to me.

It has been a pleasure working with you.

So I’ve been wondering how many more staff have been given the heave ho and which departments.

Stream lining of companies normally happens prior to a take over or sale.

Now why doesn’t that come as a surprise, I think I mentioned that word near the beginning of this thread.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

After years of doing business with them and the way they have treated myself and other long standing trade customers I will never do business with them or associated /linked companies again.

I’ve resurrected my old account with Maddocks after many years of not using them and have been welcomed back, all this rubbish from Qualtex about not spending enough with them is utter cr** as far as I’m concerned.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

I think the reps probably know more than they are letting on, when I spoke to someone they were aware I was one of those on the list.

Interestingly I have been back through previous years accounts and found that my last order with Homespares was back in 2011 so I gave them a call and found that my account is still active and hasn’t been closed down, so I beg the question if they are not bothered how many orders I make why should Qualtex.

They are aware of the steps that Qualtex have taken against some account holders and seem quite happy to help those affected.

Thank’s Dave, however there maybe individuals/ companies that we may not even hear from so I wonder how accurate this list might be, only time will tell.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Did the guys who have been shut down do this a lot maybe?

The answer is no, They were the only supplier I used.

I think there’s more to this than we are aware of me thinks, however I’ll try and find some other supplier who wants my business or wave goodbye to twenty five years and hopefully find a job with less hassle, I’m not a young man any more.

I use the term I trusted Qualtex to provide the correct retail price so I don’t mislead a customer, but because I’ve traded with them for so long, maybe I’ve become complacent. :boops:

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

To correct my earlier post Qualtex profits were up not down.

Secondly concerning pt no 1320041054 Qualtex suggest a retail of £72.18 but I have it on authority that Homespare say £39.99, trade price not that dissimilar to qualtex, why the huge retail price difference.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Can I assume that those are trade prices, if so I wonder how quickly they would set up a new account or would there be some hidden criteria that states you have to spend a certain amount each month.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Going through their last filed accounts online Martin their profit is down on their previous year, so again another reason to question their approach to close accounts, I personally find their actions discriminating against the smaller business.

I pay my account in the first week of the following month rather than leaving the 30 days, but when I spoke to Mr Storah I suggested that if i was a burden to Qualtex I would quite happily pay when placing an order but got no reply just silence.

There’s no loyalty anymore it goes on a lot theses days it seems, so in future it might be as well to do as they do and look after number one and screw everybody else, or am I being selfish.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Hi Martin, no notice was given at all, the first I knew was the letter landing on the floor 12.31 pm last Friday the 9th December, the letter was dated the 8th December. It stated that the account would be closed on the 31st December.

However the letter went on to say that from the 1st of January their complete range of products could be ordered online from appliance spares warehouse.

As you mentioned in your post above my/our accounts haven’t been suspended, they’ve been closed because we don’t spend enough money.
I wonder if Tesco’s will ban the wife from shopping there if she doesn’t spend enough next week.

What I find farcical is at the bottom of the letter it says ” and hope you will continue to do business with us via our retail website “.

Can I post a copy of the letter on here, and how?

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Having had a phone call from Mr Storah this morning which got nowhere apart from he’s very sorry.

He did suggest however that those affected could or should use their retail outlet to acquire spares. I did point out that how does buying parts at retail make good business practice ! and he’s a FINANCIAL Director. I did however wish him and his family a Happy Christmas after all his six figure salary won’t restrict his spending this Christmas. I think its deplorable the way he and Qualtex have treated those affected.

I’m going to start on the Scotch early tonight.

    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Their cut off point is £100 a week, the only items I’ve sent ever sent back is the odd fan oven element that’s failed in a short period of time.
As they are my only supplier I’ve no need to look up prices to compare with anyone else, I’m more than satisfied at the service they have provided over the years.

I don’t discriminate against my customers as to how much they spend with me, surely a job is a job after all and I’m grateful for each returning customer I get

I phoned them this morning hoping to speak to one of the directors who appeared on last year’s accounts but neither were available, my comments were noted and I’m told I will get a reply, I’m not holding my breath.

Mr Storah was only appointed finance director this time last year, I’m surprised its taken him this long to upset anyone, who know’s whats coming next maybe some redundancies, possibly his own that would save Qualtex a heap of cash to begin with.
