    Re: Qualtex Account Closure

Hi all, I to got the same letter on Friday, far from impressed that someone hasn’t had the courtesy to phone and explain the reasoning behind their action.

They’ve had my business for nearly sixteen years and have paid my months account long before its due and without fail that’s how they treat the sole trader/self employed person i think is disgusting.
So I have two weeks to find another trade supplier or shut up shop after 25 years, Happy Christmas Qualtex.

P.s Don’t worry guy’s Qualtex Xmas will be, OK I had a read of their accounts on companies house Gov.UK

This post should be totally ignored, conflicting information given by distributor & AEG.

    Re: Neff Oven B1691/NO/GB/01 overheating

Just a quick catch up on this thread backordered item turned up yesterday ie ” PTC ” back to the said oven this morning.
Needless to say has’nt mad any difference to the overheating problem, so at a bit of a loss as to whether the control unit is at fault or the motorised switch gear assy 🙂
I had checked all the connections Martin, everything seems or appears to be ok!

    Re: Neff Oven B1691/NO/GB/01 overheating

Thanks Pinky,as ive been doing work for this chap for nearly 16 years or so and have already quoted him for both but he wants me to start with the PTC and if that dose’nt cure it go for the control board which is’nt cheap, mind you the PTC is a bit of a silly price for what it is.
However I take note of what you say about them not normally going out of tolerance but I set it at 160 deg and my thermometer read 200 deg.
What I worry about is what if both parts are changed and he still says his food is getting burnt as you say it might bite me in the bottom (polite phrase).

    Re: Europart

All I can say chaps is i’ve been dealing with Qualtex for many years and found them to be the most helpfull distributer out there.
My account with them is small due to the fact that trade down this end of the country is none existant and has been for a while but I keep plodding on. Masterpart I very rarley use because of there prices and I use Connect as a backup.

    Re: Hoover Motor (AVA20-007)

Thanks for your replies guy’s, but i’ve ordered a new one to be on the safe side. As she’s a senior citizen I don.t want to create any possible problems. As its not too expensive trade pricewise ill let her have it at half price, it’ll keep the overall cost down.

    Again thanks for your help.

I don’t know why I did’nt think of trying Tricity Bendix, must have been having another senior moment. Although your right about the PNC number not being right, its only the 02 version that has the board, the 01 version shows it as having a timer.
Thanks again for everyones input, ill report back when finished, God help the tenant if they’ve been stringing me along.

    Re: Bendix BIW105w (914211107)

Hi Mike, Bendix is not listed under the brand name listing so ive gone Zanussi, clicked on washing machines and after a bit of cross referencing I came up with the service manual for a ewm1000 & zwf 1220s which appear to have the same board.
Yes you may be right im not using the search criteria correctly in Connect but ive only had the account for several months, I normally use Qualtex.
Mediator dosen’t come up using the PNC or model number I just get a list of parts 😕 .

    Re: Bendix BIW105w (914211107)

Sorry Allan, the full PNC is914211107(01). As there is no digital display no fault code is shown. Perhaps I’ll have to take a chair and sit down with a book when I visit next week as the tenant is away on there holiday and watch it go through a cycle, joy o joy.

    Re: Bendix BIW105w (914211107)

Hi Tim,according to the tenant the washing is’nt coming out very clean.
I understand what your saying concerning the clothes coming out cold at the end of the cycle i’ve nearly been caught on that one before.
They have been using this machine for a while so I would hope the problem dosen’t lay there.
I was there today again to check the ohms resistance between the old ntc and the new one having been advised by Martin.
I put it on a 40 degree wash and waited at least 10 mins but whether that was long enough or not I dont know, the programmes on alot of the later Zanussi/Bendix machines are alot longer than my old FLS 1185 for example, and as time was not on my side today I began to wonder whether the heater relay on the board may have failed.
I don’t have a service manual for this model so i’m not sure at what point or time in the cycle the heater should cut in.

    Re: Bendix BIW105w (914211107)

Ok so that did’nt work, inital problem was no heating but appliance completed the wash.
So having checked the board for dry solder joints etc. and checked the heater I assumed the fault may have been with the NTC but having aquired a new one which comes with a new element of course the problem still exists, so i assume a board fault ie a relay perhaps.

Communication with tenant is poor because of a lack of English ( Russian I think) and the letting agent isnt a lot of help,so any suggestions chaps.

    Over to you Martin.
