ParticipantThank you. That must have been the case with our old cooker then.
It’s created a new problem that we never had before (steam/water dripping down splashback, down the back of the cooker).
Are users just supposed to monitor the condensation and wipe it whenever the oven is on? A step backward it feels.
How do integrated ovens vent steam?

ParticipantThanks Dave, we must have had condensation trapped below the tile line for years with our old home then, we never had a stream of water up the back of the splashback before.

ParticipantOur old Hotpoint was frost free and wasn’t on as often. I don’t believe the new one is an inverter type either.

ParticipantThe top and bottom of the hinge looks like this: s-l1600.jpg
There’s also another section that the pin on the hinge loops through, but can’t seem to see these for sale anywhere (if it is indeed either component).

ParticipantHi,
It’s one of these: https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAyNFg3Njg=/z/j84AAOSwo4pYd4PQ/$_86.JPG
There’s easily 2-3mm play at the hinge on the left.

ParticipantOkay so I’ve blown the pipe, checked the filter area. 2 pans and 1st spin got to the last minute and sat there for 5 minutes displaying 1 minute to go.
I powered off and back on. Another 2 pans of water, did the spin (and drain cycle).
Again it stuck on one minute to go for a while, 8 minutes in fact. Then did another spin. Getting faster slower, faster slower never ending! After 5 minutes of this it finally stopped. It then went up to 2 minutes, so I powered off.
Daren’t put a wash on…
Anything else to be tried?

ParticipantThanks. As the F05 error seemed to clear itself and start a new wash cycle without further error code, does that still indicate the issue remains and why it seems to loop the rinse cycle indefinitely, never getting to the drain and spin final phase?

ParticipantIt’s now doing the same thing again, i.e. seemingly looping the rinse and spin final part of the wash cycle repeatedly with long waits between it going from 16 minutes down to 10, then back to 16 again… is this a write off?

ParticipantIt’s now half way through its second wash, and it started flashing with the error code ‘F5’. Any ideas what to do next?
Thanks in anticipation.

ParticipantIt was a dodgy connection on the new heating element, the connector wasn’t clicked on tight. NO tripping now.
First cycle complete with a fairly accurate program time (55 minutes). However the spin cycle, should take around 10 minutes has taken 20 minutes thus far. It spends a minute or two doing nothing, then spins again.
Could this be another fault, or is there anything I need to ‘reset’?

ParticipantHi,
I’ve fitted a new heating element and a new thermostat.
10 minutes in to a wash cycle, and the fuse tripped again.
Any ideas now?
Thanks.

ParticipantThanks for the advice. I will investigate further.
Good to be making progress, especially as our household is now ‘self isolating’ and a washing machine is a little more important than under normal circumstances!

ParticipantThanks again. Wash cycles were not getting warm at all (feeling the glass door after 10 minutes).
Removed the back panel. All wires were in place. I removed the thermostat and tapped it a few times on a hard surface, put it all back together and voila!
However, after three loads the water did seem to get warm initially, but the cycle took a very long time to finish, seemingly running multiple rinse and spin cycles as it was before.
Is this most likely a thermostat fault or heating element?

ParticipantThanks. I opted to get a used motor from eBay, which came far quicker than an engineer could visit, and MUCH cheaper – £25.00.
Fitted and all is much much better. It washes, spins, etc. However the wash cycles are taking quite a bit longer than usual. I.e. a 55 minute cycle is around double that. The time indicator say sticks at 8 minutes for 5 minutes, then goes down to 6, then stays there for 5 minutes, then down to 1 minute for 5 minutes. Then it went back up to 15 minutes!
Any ideas?
Thanks.
