Exactly Andy, you hit the nail on the head. They have no issue with you giving the customer your card and details at any point, so building the customer base at the same time.

Jazz.Your normal labour charge is £25.00? Mine is double that.
You must be running around like a mad. Ok you might get a lot of work but you are undervaluing yourself. You are also giving that company nearly half of your potential earning per job just for the intro.
I don’t understand your economics on both your labour charge or contibution for the intro.
Not having a go just confused.
RobI usually charge £25.00 for an estimate. £45.00 wm repair , £55 gas and integrated, 70 range and large refrigeration. Not that my economics should really bother you…. But as I say, as a gap filler when otherwise I would be doing nothing….how can it be a loss if I cover my fuel and other cost and make money on top that I would not otherwise have had?
But this is going off topic in my opinion, so I will shit up now :-).Jazz

I do work for them….. I thought at first that is was a waste of time but the misses in the office said it would be ok.So on the understanding if it went tits up, it was HER FAULT, we started accepting the work. Now the cheapest job we do is £49.50 for a washing machine repairs ,but going up to £65.00 for large refrigeration. Out of that you have to pay them £20.00 for sending you the job. I use these as a boost to my work. If I am busy I let them know and they stop sending work. When receiving work I usually get 10-15/week. I can also refuse any I don’t want and not get charged!

So in brief at the moment it is working for us.The guys who run it are called Mick and Adrian, they are always available on the phone if a problem hits and usually get problems sorted quickly. So it really is up to the independent, some may like it some wont, but at the end of the day it isn’t Servicenet! It really is a take if you want and don’t take if you don’t want, so ATM a win win for me.HOpe that helps

ParticipantRe: Servicenet
Had a call today, insisted on fee upfront, they offered me 1/2 upfront, I said no thanks. They did try again saying they also had a Smeg dishwasher and did I want the work and that trust is a two way streak. I said find any reference to me ever ripping someone off and i will accept the 1/2 fee then again declined! The job they sent me said invoice to GLG Ltd, trading as servicenet.
Don’t know if they are legit or not, told them to come on here and fight their case….we will wait and see. Might give them the benefit of the doubt if they did try and come and sort his out!Jazz

Sounds like it is trying and not succeeding to get water. Check the inlet valve and taps or ok, if they are the the water measuring on the left hand side could be a problem.
