Hi there…the F 12 fault is none communication between the control console and the main board in the base of the appliance…however both of these board contain eeproms…the fault could be as simple as a faulty connection at the control console and or the main board..if the appliance is under 5yrs old then all parts are free you just pay the service callout (£89.00) if the appliance is over 5yrs old id seriously consider scrapping the same..you must have the model and serial numbers of your appliance to obtain correct eeproms..and you may need a motor…merloni advise changing boards eeproms and motor …costly if your paying..good luck ..ex merloni engineer

Hi there…Wow!.. the old familiar Bull Story from Merloni….The Facts are as follows…
Merloni guarantee to Service and maintain your appliance completley free of charge within the 1st year..During the remaining 4 years all parts are free of charge with you the customer liable for the callout /service charge.I think it is now around £89.00 used to be £65.00.however there is no additional labour or hidden charges applicable…If the Appliance is not repairable because there are No parts are available that is not your problem but merloni’s and they are legaly obliged to furnish you with a new appliance under the terms of your warranty at no cost to yourself….do not be fobbed off …cheers good luck (ex merloni engineer)

Hi there Alex….take a deep breath and walk right on past that shop window….Alex the original 1 has given you really good advice…however id like to add a little to it..there are some little hidden extras you may not be aware of …Many franchised engineers today have been forced into the situation where they have to purchase the spares required for the warranty work and then invoice the main agent for their time and parts used..grand if your diagnosess has been accurate if not you get to keep the parts..they are not returnable and dont be tempted to order unrelated fault parts ie..if you need a replacement drain pump..then dont order a motor and module thinking great ive got these free…because when your invoice lands on my desk i will def. query the fault and visit or have it inspected if necessary…Be warned …Be careful…id give it a by…but good luck

Hi there Nadine…in relation to your query on integrated appliances…All or any of the appliance Brands you have mentioned are of good quality durable, pleasing to the eye and reasonably inexpensive to maintain out of warranty…in the electric oven versus Gas oven question well it really is personal choice and preference, modern fan assisted electric ovens are fast in cooking and produce excellent results…Gas ovens are also excellent but please ensure that the installation is carried out by a CORGI Registered Gas fitter who will issue you a safety test certificate for your house insurance and you will need to repeat this test annually…good luck

Hi there…pretty expensive on clothes i guess…however the problem is not just related to your hotpoint, all machines can do this , The inner drum of the machine has suffered damage which is causing the destruction of the garments, and sometimes it requires the trained eye of an engineer to actually spot the damage…A replacement drum and bearing kit is the only permanent soloution to your problem and again this will depend on age and condition of the appliance..if under 5yrs old then hotpoint will replace this under parts warranty you only pay the service call charge…good luck

Re: Indesit WE14 F-12 what does it mean?

hi…generally means loss of communication between the two control boards….ie the digital programe display and the main control module..however be wary here both boards contain EPROM chips and it is usually down to corrupted instructions on either one or both EPROMS..you will require model and serial number of appliance to obtain spares …quite frankly you need an Engineer to identify the fault/s and dependant on the age and condition of the appliance perhaps change it…These appliances were plagued with this type of fault….have a nice day
