The first time it tripped the RCD, the lamp was blown, the second & third time, RCD tripped, the lamp was ok

It’s probably tricky and time consuming to find the cause of the fault, quite annoying the problem is not persistent/constant as the interval between each time it tripped the RCD, 4 days & than almost 3 months!

If the main board is damaged, maybe this is causing the RCD tripping & not economically viable to get it repair?

The fridge/freezer is over 10 years and unless it’s an easy fix, do it yourself, I don’t want to waste too much time stripping it down to look for the fault (probably easier to buy a new fridge/freezer)

    Thanks

I have managed to look at this model parts lists with diagrams on the Bosch website.
there’s the compressor with a plastic cover box on the left side.
The plastic cover removed from the box, shows a start relay
The large silver start capacitor has a cable connected to the plastic cover box
What does the suppressor look like?

    Thanks

After checking online for information on this model, the silver cylindrical part is a 4UF capacitor, so is this the suppressor?

    Thanks

If it the suppressor that is faulty, with no signs of crack or damage, how would I find this out?
    Is it an easy fix?

    Thanks

I have identified the compressor on the right, than the relay switch with a cover attached onto the left side of compressor & further to the left side is a separate long tall silver cylindrical part?

Is the mains suppressor a cylindrical looking part?
If so, there’s no crack or damage.

Re: New replacement thermo overload cut-out switch not worki

The grill element wasn’t working (due to loose connection) and on my last post, the other original TOC (grill) showing continuity is actually the new replacement TOC. (got mixed up as all the grill element, cooling fan and new replacement TOC’s are all identical in shape and size
I have now replaced the original faulty grill element TOC and everything is now working. Thanks for the help.

Re: New replacement thermo overload cut-out switch not worki

The grill and cooling fan TOC both looks identical in size so I must of mistaken the cooling fan TOC for the grill TOC.
Because the cooling fan TOC show no continuity on the multimeter, I just presume it’s faulty or damaged. (thinking it’s the grill TOC)
Just checked the other original TOC (grill) and it shows continuity.
Now, What is causing the grill element not to heat up, where as the oven element is working fine?
Both element show continuity on the multimeter.

Yes, there is 2 TOC’S and the new replacement TOC has the same numbers/value of the other TOC.
When you say the cooling fan TOC is normally open, does this mean there is no continuity shown on a multimeter?
Are grill TOC different to cooling fan TOC?

The cooling fan continues to run permanently even in the off position?

The original selector switch has been replaced recently. one of the finger was welded to the contact due to the faulty oven lamp (also replaced) causing the oven light to stay on permanently and blowing the fuse.
I have checked the selector and there is no welded finger to any contacts?

Re: oven switch selector sparks and blow consumer unit fuse?

I replaced the oven selector with a new one(arrived today) and the problem even gone worse!
Just blow the fuse every time I turn the oven on.
Disconnected both the oven and grill elements and it seems to power up ok.
When I connect the oven element back, it just blows the fuse all the time so I have to disconnect it.
When I connect the grill element back, it powers up ok.
Is it possible the oven element is faulty and causing to blow the fuse?

Re: New World NW601 FP oven lamp stays on permanently

Thanks for the advice. I have removed the oven switch selector and one of the contact seems to be damaged (gone black with residue) Managed to find online a new oven switch selector replacement for £10 and have place an order for one. Hopefully this should solve the oven lamp problem.
