Hi Martin
I managed to compress the rubber washer a lot more and that has certainly made a big difference. It’s not perfect but it is an elderly machine.thanks very much for your advice.

What do you suggest, a washer or two until the drum straightens up?

ParticipantRe: Hoover Logic 1200 A3786
The drum appears to float about too freely and is decidedly leaning to the left, looking from the front of the machine

The one that is mounted on the drum housing and where the suspension rods are bolted onto.

Hello there it is me again.
As can be seen from previous posts, I replaced the suspension kit to solve issue of drum banging on the sides and I’m afraid to say that the drum still doesn’t sit straight and if anything, the problem is worse!
The brackets on the drum and the chassis appear okay so I would appreciate any suggestions as to how the drum can be centred?
I noticed that there are 3 holes on the drum bracket, at the moment the rods are located in the middle ones, is this correct?
Thanks for any help
Colin

Eventually figured it out, although the replacement ring was the correct one and all the terminals were in the same place, some bright spark at the factory had changed the numbers around when they were designing it!!

Is it possible that the wiring is different on the new ring? I feel that the power is generating the ring before it goes through the switch?
I have fitted the new switch again and checked and double checked that I have wired the ring and the switch as they were before but ring is still permanently live.
Could my theory be correct?
I’m not an electrician but a straight swap should have been easy enough?juicehills

Okay, thanks for that.

It does look very similar but there are more pins on this one than the one in the picture.

The switch finally arrived but unfortunately it isn’t the one in the photo, so I will need to return it.
I have now swapped two of the switches around as they both had the same numbers and the ring is still permanently live and the original switch controls the other ring as it should, so the fault can’t be in the switch
I have checked the wiring of the ring versus the photos that I took prior to removing the old one and it all appears okay. Is it possible that it is the new ring that is at fault?juicehills

Thanks Andy, I’ll check all these points out before I go any further.
I bought a bearing kit from the site but I didn’t get a new foam gasket with it. If it turns out not to be viable, I may be able to return the kit.

I’m hopefully at the final stage of rejuvenating my washing machine.
Does anyone have any tips on the procedure for replacing the drum bearings?

I don’t see a number on the cooker, there is a label inside the top oven door but it has been wiped clean over the years.
The switch says T150 on it if that helps?
