Further to your help. we have fitted the board which has now allowed the fridge-freezer to refrigerate, however the customer is complaining that the fridge will not go below 6deg. Is this commonplace on this model? Seem to recall having one similar which didn’t get much lower. Also, the customer eventually found the rating plate stuck to her user manual which had the code 08 (which didn’t seem to work) rather than the ones suggested (which obviously did work) – would that have affected it in any way?

I have to respond to this subject discussion because, at the risk of being shot down in flames, we still offer no call out charge and free estimates. We have been trading since 1986 and still manage to make it pay without a call out charge for most items. We have debated introducing a call out charge many many times but just as we are on the verge of introducing one, Mrs O’Brady (little old lady) will call and tell you she chose you because “I see you have no call out charge”. Everyone is happy. We get the call, she pays a reasonable price for a repair. I must say it has caused some problems over the years with certain customers thinking “no call out charge” = “no charge whatsover” but that is the way it will always be – some people are idiots! We are based in the Midlands and I’m not sure whether location effects what kind of service you can offer but I can assure you that there are still many repairers offering free call outs here and most do a decent, honest days work for decent money. Just my point of view obviously, but please don’t assume no call out charge equals cowboys. Its not true.

Engineer went back out this morning – regfrigerating correctly, internal fans running, not short of gas, BUT the condensor fan motor is not running. Ice maker assy has cured original fault but the condensor fan makes no more than 1/4 turn and then stops, the fan was running when the engineer left after fitting the ice maker assy and the fan is not seized so dont think it’s the fan thats faulty. Any ideas?

Have fitted ice maker assy which has now cured the original fault, thank you. However, now the freezer is only maintaining between -2 and -4. Fridge is maintaining 3 degs. Just short of gas, following being off for a while or something else?

lovely, thanks for that. At least the Brandt version is only OOS and not special order, so should be in a bit sooner. Of course, should someone have one just lying around, I’ll happily buy it off you……! 🙂

We commonly replace soap box top (outer casing drawer top or whatever Bosch’s description is!).

Thanks for your advice. The i/m sensor is showing as a separate part on connect 5031680996791 – is this the same part that comes with the ice maker assy?

its the top line of the 2nd “8” on the fridge temperature and its flashing. Kez
