ParticipantSo your recommendation would be to go back to condenser?
What do you think of Hybrid devices? I’ve seen that the top models from LG, Samsung and BSH have both sensor-driven and timed modes.
LG is calling their system EcoHybrid and from what I understood, if I need to dry something relatively quickly, it switches to a standard condenser mode, otherwise it’ll work as a heat pump. I suspect that both Samsung and BSH devices operate in the same manner, just don’t have a cool-sounding name for this? Thanks for the gas advice as having a propane tank next to a heater is scaring the bejeezus off me.

An update – ran the cleaning a couple of times again during last months and the buzzing noise is gone. Thank you for your help!

ParticipantWill do! Thank you!

ParticipantI’ve seen some videos on youtube where people are blaming it on 3-way solenoid. Not sure if it is correct or not, though.
Apart from the noise the machine operates perfectly well and the coffee is as good as on day one.Kommunist
ParticipantYes, it pumps water OK, no issues with either water flow or coffee taste.

Descaled the machine today twice.
It made no difference at all.
It sounds, however, that the buzzing noise is happening when the machine is taking water from the tank and putting it to boiler. When it is pumping the water out through the hot water spout there is no noise, just the usual whirring.Kommunist
ParticipantAre you suggesting I shall run a descale cycle? Can do, after all, as you’ve said, it is cheap and easy.
Kommunist
ParticipantNot recently, no. I only descale it when it is asking for it, I think the last time I did it was about 2 months ago.
Kommunist
ParticipantThank you. This means that the machine will be out of action, right?
The interesting thing is that the dryer can work for week or so without any issue and then trip the RCD. So the issue is intermittent (hate these things) and difficult to reproduce.Kommunist
ParticipantThe RCD tripping saga continues. My wife forgot to turn it off after removing the laundry, so the machine was left on standby. Several hours later… RCD tripped again. Does that mean the story is finally over for this machine?
Kommunist
ParticipantYes I have. Still trips occasionally. However, it didn’t trip since I cleaned it, so hopefully it was some lint/dust/dirt that was causing it.
Kommunist
ParticipantThere was some dust, so I gave it a vacuum clean yesterday, hope it would help. 🙂

ParticipantJust completed the run and it didn’t trip. However, it didn’t trip evert run before anyway. It does it maybe once a month or so.

ParticipantOpened the machine today. There are no signs of moisture where the heater is. Gave it a bit a of a clean (there was a lot of solid/semi-solid gunk in there, some of which can be seen in the picture). The impeller was covered by grey plasticide-like stuff, so cleaned that out as well.
However, there are some water droplets under the impeller, where the rubber seal (the one attached to the metal cover) should be. Is this normal?
The forum wouldn’t let me to attach am image, so here’s a link to it:

ParticipantOK, will try to do it over the weekend and see if there is some moist, thank you!
