ParticipantRe: Sebo or Miele?
Thank you. Yes, indeed it is possible to buy turbobrush (roughly 30 quid directly from Sebo) for stairs, but the powerbrush is not an option for K1 series.
As to Vax, well.. ANYTHING in this world is better that the Vax. My previous vacuum cleaner was el cheapo LG of some sorts and it was much much better (and cheaper too) than Vax. The reason why I got the Vax was that I still have their multifunction 6151SX machine and it is pretty good on carpets (rubbish on hard floor) although not the easiest one to maneur around house.
BTW, what is your opinion on Nilfisk, Henry or Bosch? Are they worth their money or should I stick to Sebo or Miele?
Sorry for asking this many questions but it seems very difficult to buy a ‘proper’ vacuum cleaner these days. Seems like I should either go for best of the best or just pop into local Tesco and get whatever their cheapest vac is (probably own brand). Strange thing is that it seems like there is nothing in between these two extremes.

But the K1 Komfort comes without electric powerhead? I thought it only comes standard with K3 Premium?

ParticipantRe: AEG Lavatherm 57700 – Empty Water light
The part arrived promptly (thanks UKW!), fitted it and the problem seems to be resolved. Did 5 drying cycles now, works like new.
Fingers crossed it’ll work for some time now – I hate throwing away things that can be easily fixed! 🙂

Thanks for your replies guys. Going to order one now.
UPD: Order placed, hopefully the part is in stock 🙂

Am I being ignored or what? 😯
Ah well… so I’ll continue talking to myself then. BTW, if this forum got some issues with me (not that I am aware of anything like that) , then let me know.
Now, back to the story. The ‘quick fix’ I described earlier didn’t work. The machine did 4 dries and stopped working again, exhibiting the exactly the same type of a problem as described above.
Do you think that changing the pump would help?
This is the part:

Right…
disassembled the machine and found that pump was stuck. Rotated it with finger (for which in needed quite a serious force at first) and it started moving alright.Assembled dryer back and everything seems to be back to normal. We dried 3 washes and no problems were found so far.

Thanks for reply! 🙂
There is a plastic cover (two covers to be precise) for fans. If I remove these and give it a good clean, do you think it’ll make system quieter? Or I would have to replace fans to do so?

Sorry for giving incorrect information – I was really sure that the machine is cold fill only… But then I decided to take a look at the back and guess what?

You are absolutely correct – this is dual fill machine!I did what you suggested – selected rinse+spin and the water in the drawer was cold. I guess that means the pipes are not reversed?
Is there anything else I can check?

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWM8103-6K not washing properly
When I said ‘hot’ it meant that the laundry is not cold, but rather warm. Guess that means the machine is heating things properly?
As to dual fill – this machine is cold fill only – there is only one inlet pipe at the back? Also, it has been used in the same location for several years and no one ever changed connection.

Also, Trading Standards got this on their website:
Q. I bought a fridge/freezer about eighteen months ago, and the freezer section has completely failed. I went back to the shop, but they refused to do anything as it was outside the original twelve-month guarantee. What are my rights?
A. If the time limit has expired on the guarantee then you have no claim under the guarantee. However, if you can show that the goods were not of satisfactory quality at the time of sale i.e. they were not as durable as it is reasonable to expect, then you may have a claim against the trader or finance company (if applicable) for compensation under the Sale of Goods Act.
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi- … 4-1111.txtSo, in theory if you can prove that the fault was inherent, such as poor design or faulty part, then you might have a case. But the burden to prove it is on you, the consumer.
I’d give a call to Trading Standards, describe the situation and see what their reaction will be. Having them on your side never hurts 🙂

As for all the screws, I was tempted to say that they are for refixing all the bits as they fall off, but that would be very cruel and facetious of me. Laughing
That was pretty much what I thought 😆
I just had a feeling that you guys were a bit embarassed by my choice after such a long and useful discussion, so wanted to say sorry. On the other hand, what you service guys will do if all appliances would be indestructable? 😉

And a silence… 🙂
I am sorry guys if you feel that your advice went unnoticed – it certainly wasn’t the case. It is just I needed quick and dirty solution at whatever cost and this was the only option available 🙁 The major reason was that I could take get it there and then and not to wait for 3-4 weeks delivery (eating microwave food for that long would certainly drive me mad). If they had Bosch available at whatever price, I’d go for it.

I think 76 is referring to the famous court case in which white goods were considered to be of long-term use and seller (not manufacturer) has to provide assistance of up to 5 or 6 years, can’t remember exactly.

Got Candy FL134WH from my local Homebase for 150 quid (reduced from 279 quid). They had it as one-off takeaway offer. This was the only option of silencing Mrs K. 🙂
Now the oven is installed (perfect fit, actually) and the only criticism is that light is always on when oven is working (it is off when oven is switched off).
Not sure if this is normal, the Hygena behaved differently.I know that Candy is crap compared to Bosch but as I’ve got 4 years (1 from Candy and 3 from credit card provider) warranty, for this sort of money I don’t really care. BTW. it looks like Candy FL134WH and Hoover HFO415W is pretty much the same thing, so missus got what she wanted.
Strangely there was no warranty card inside of the user guide – is this normal for Candy? I still registered it on their website and it came as valid… Probably need to give’em a call on Monday and ask for a proper warranty card.
There were a lot (about 30) screws in the box – what are these for? The longer ones (black) are for attaching front panel to cabinet but what are another 26 for? 😯
