    Re: Merloni Smart Card Readers

    Thanks Martin
It was using the advanced search that brought me to the post in the first place. The reason being is the Reader I have did not come with said instructions so I was hoping that someone may have posted them here.
So if I may be so bold as to describe how I might use it you can correct me.
    #############
    Power Off Appliance.
    Insert card into Reader.
    Insert Reader into appliance.
    Power On.
    Red light flashes.
When download complete light turns to Green flashes.
    Power Off.
    Remove Reader.
    Power On.
    Done.
    ##############

The first time I used it I got the green light to go.
Powered up and got the dreaded F09.
Going back today with yet another card but need some clarification on it’s use.
And if anyone asks why not ask your supplier for the instructions all I can say is JTM.

Just wondering if you checked the capillary tube connected to the pressure switch. Overtime it can rub on metal work and form a pin hole in the rubber. If this does not operate in the manner it was intended it can cause the odd symptoms you are experiencing.
Remove the tube and blow in it to pressurise it.
If that checks out, connect the tube to the pressure switch and check that the diaphragm acts on the switch. You need a multimeter to bell out the switch connections.
If you don’t understand that then call out a qualified repair engineer.

Isolating the appliance from the electricity mains socket by removing the plug from the socket will prevent almost certain death. You have been warned.

If I am not mistaken, that device is a thermal component that can be made up by your self. I have seen then fitted to Beko ovens and others. We purchase these from RS but you do need to crimp the terminal ends. Soldering is not an option.

Re: Servis M491 Wash Cycle incomplete

    Hi Mike

Just got back from that job.
Although the capacitor was fine the wire leading from it to the wash motor had been arcing on the base plate and had corroded the wire.
The machine must have had a flood at some point as the base plate was rusty and the insulation must have broke down. I remade the wire connection and it ran up just fine.
    Alls well that ends well.
    Thanks for the Tip.
    Yet another Happy customer.

    Kind regard Tony

Electro/Mechanical Timer was faulty. Guess the contacts had stuck, hence the burning. Called Hobart spares with an off the shelf price of 175.00 plus vat and delivery.
    Customer says its a goer.
Hobart say the Timer is a replacement and not the original fitted. I was told if there were any problems fitting it, to call them and they would talk me through it.
    We’ll wait and see.

    Thanks for the input guys.
The machine is in a Hotel. I’m off there this am (Sat) to give it a quick coat of looking at.
Customer says he smelt burning and just switched it off.
That should narrow it down a bit or not !

    Thanks for the feed back.
Been busy of late. Just got the keys for my other lockup from the council.
Took them 9 months to administer the change over. Must be a record.

I refer to ‘das’ as domestic appliance servicing’.
Hope to set up a trade counter for this purpose. Need another revenue stream.
Appreciate this place is for everyone.
