KeymasterThat’s not a model number but, do you have the product code?

KeymasterI hate to say it but that sounds like the compressor is toast. 🙁

KeymasterIf it’s dropped off their system and, that is entirely possible, then it is all too likely that they genuinely don’t know or cannot find any record.
Samsung et all obsolete stuff relatively soon and the range that came after that, the RS Series is obsolete pretty much being way over 10 years old now. Yours is before that.

KeymasterMy take would be that there is no way that you could have caused that to happen by changing the filter and this is merely a coincidence. The tanks are known to fail and it may even have been gone before you attended or split but as you were unaware of any issue you replaced the filter and no more.
I cannot not see how it can be your fault though you will need to soak up the cost of the filter.
The customer will kick off and try to claim I’ve little doubt but if it were me I’d just say no and they head to TS or whatever just politely explain the story calmly and rationally and they will doubtless not bother. Not that they’d do much anyway.
About the worst you’ll get most likely is some grief on the phone and a bad review posted wherever they can and I’d wager that’s about it.

KeymasterThey go and when they do a new tank is the only option.
I would have said that it was all too likely going to fail anyway and this is probably a coincidence more than much else.

KeymasterC_R_A_P! 😉
They’re trying to force you to do as they demand, that’s all that is.
Call their bluff.

KeymasterThose switches do get used, just so you know.
Boards, not so much.

KeymasterDon’t worry about the threat of TS, they are reasonable people and you are being reasonable (IMO) by agreeing to replace the seal FOC even though it is failed due to an unrelated fault that caused it.
It is akin to having a car serviced and six months later a brake calliper fails, takes out a disc and whatever other resulting damage or failure. You cannot be held accountable for things you cannot see or predict in other words, exactly as Dave says, repairers are not clairvoyant. You can only fix or advise on what you can see, not what you can’t.
To expect otherwise is an unreasonable expectation on the part of the customer and, they probably know it.

KeymasterThat looks to be commercial so you’d need to seek out a commercial supplier but if it’s in that world, it’s gonna cost a lot.

KeymasterOh dear, not good though not really surprising as it is a good age now and pretty much abandoned by Samsung.
If it’s got R600a in it then it says 88g of gas but if it’s not then I’ve no idea.
