KeymasterRe: ATAG cooling fan
Yeah P, most of these tangenital fan motors are similar to others and very often with huge price differences. You should also give Paul at DATA a shout as he’s great at tracking down stuff like that as well.

KeymasterThe source aparently has this in writing but I do not have a copy, hence it’s firmly in the Rumour Mill. 😉
I too have had no notice of this.

KeymasterLooks nice Alex and perhaps worth a whirl.
Whilst browsing about I found http://www.payontime.co.uk/ which looks to be very useful as well. I haven’t got time to go through it right now, but I will! 😈

KeymasterI have that book as well, load of useless shite basically.
I also got a load of training material, which is pretty much useless without the training to go with it but better than bugger all I expect.
Very poor thus far.

KeymasterRe: R U Ready
Mark, we all suffer from “head-up-arse” syndrome except Martin as he’s nearing retirement, even closer to it than the other old bald duffer is. :rotfl:
However, as an aside, I’ve ordered all Dixon’s books and I’ll have a look see what he’s been up to of late. As I said the first issues of them were shall we say, not the best, but I believe that they have been updated. If nothing else it will allow me to see the language and layouts used.
He covers dishwashers, washer dryers and of course washers as well as a few other bits an bobs, but I do think that these will be very, very generic but we’ll see. What I don’t understand is that, beyond the basic concepts, what’s to explain that isn’t pretty manufacturer specific?

KeymasterRe: Bradshaws & The Importance Of It
Well got a reply from Bradshaw’s solicitors, it’s a load of bollocks but it’s a reply I guess, in defence of the conter claim. So it looks as if it’s going to court.
They say that the invoice was not supported by paperwork for the amount, funny I thought I explained how invoicing worked to them.
Some other bollocks about the return spares not being available but they forgot to add that they gave less than 24 hours notice for collection then called outside business hours to collect it!
And the topper, third one, is that my £120 admin charges to deal with the case is outragous and they don’t accept it. 😆
Should be interesting to see what a judge thinks given that they charge £80 in solicitors fees alone!

KeymasterRe: GB DAR
Well here’s a lovely rumour to kick off the week,
I have been informed that D&G have dropped Samsung or vice-versa as it’s, as yet, unclear what’s gone off. And the work for Samsung has gone to GBDAR, who will no doubt not be paying £45 a call that DAG agents were getting.
No written confirmation yet but it came from a reliable and trusted source.

KeymasterRe: a test
But P, does that get your whites, whiter than white? 😆
Actually you are totally correct, as is Mrs P (obviously ;)) as you need three things to wash essentially, detergent, motion and, arguably, heat. But that’s using a chemical reaction to clean and in particular remove grease, but you’d have to apply the same basic principals to dish as well.
It’s interesting that you mention the old “beat them off a rock” principle as that was the basis of the theory behind Jetsystem and, I suspect, most of the reduction in water usage we see now. If you think about it clothing is no longer agitated suspended in water but more slapped off the drum as it revolves.
So much for any new ideas eh? 😉

KeymasterRe: a test
Do you want the dictionary answer, the appropriate chemical answer or the “relevant to our industry” answer? Or should I just give you them all, IMO of course. 😉 It’s all relative, forgive me please Albert.
To give all a clue, it’s all to do with particle reactions within and to do with detergents and their constituant components that alllow the products to work but I’m guessing that most had already sussed that out.
Another clue = “ionic” (pronounced : i-on-ic)
Kevin, is this not a bit heavy for a Sunday? 😆
And really, if you ever fancy a debate on theoretical or particle physics then I’m your man, but chemistry was never really my field. 😉

KeymasterRe: R U Ready
Martin called you a bastard before now Kev, just not in public! :rotl:
Anyway, I think that this is worth a punt and, if bugger all else, it puts UKW on the map for at least thinking and moving in this direction which is no bad thing at all IMO.
As Kev says we’re a bit busy this week. Plans, scheming, getting shit together and all that kinda crap. 😉
Mark I’m sure you’ve goten a gist of what we’re about here and what we are ultimately aiming at from this. Sod Dixon, he may well be clever and he may well have shown us the way but it remains up to us to hammer the message home and carry it off to a large extent.
And here’s the apology…
I’ve been really busy the past few days with family stuff. T had a close relative die, Xmas is round the corner and I had concerts in place to go to, including one tomorrow night. I could live without it all, but I’ve little option given that my time spent on UKW/work is so vast I can hardly complain when called upon to do other things.
It’s all about balance and, thus far, UKW has taken more than its fair toll.

KeymasterHiya,
Dave should be able to sort you one out in the morning with little trouble I should think.
