Yes but due to president set by M&S the chances of them keeping it if I decide to get shirty about it are practically zero. However, I regard these “cyber-sitters” as some of the lowest forms of scum on the internet, on a par with spammers in my book so I won’t even give them the time of day.
I knew about this a while ago, I’ve just chosen to ignore it thus far.
Stealing someone’s identity in real life is illegal, nowadays stealing someone’s identity on the net is also illegal. The problem is that the justice system in most countries is still playing catch up to the ever evolving internet.
My advice stands though, ignore it.

KeymasterYeah, great movie if you got the jokes in it. 😉
T was looking at me real funny when I was nearly wetting myself at the “crossroads” scene. 😆

KeymasterAh sorry I didn’t pick up on the price bit. 😳
Phil and Dave are quite correct the electric AGA’s are good, but there are plenty other options for that kind of money that do the same thing, arguably better.
Branding, gotta love it! 😕

KeymasterRe: Aga masterchef – range cooker
The AGA (a real one) is a pretty unique bit of kit as well as not being cheap to buy or repair should it go wrong and it is a specialist area to be honest.
However, they are extremely well built and if cared for will last for years on end. For a range cooker of similar quality have a look at the Viking range, again built like battleships but not exactly cheap, or lightweight! It’s the old story, if you want the best you’re gonna have to pay for it I’m afraid. 😉
The other thing to bear in mind about the AGA is that during the summer, particularly in a smaller kitchen, it gets very warm and can be uncomfortable as it is on all the time. Just something to bear in mind as many seem to ba made as a “lifestyle” purchase and practicality is often not so much of a consideration.

KeymasterYep, Id go with that Mary, Simon is right I think as I’ve seen it before as well. A bra wire occasionally will pop up through one of the holes in the drum and its just enough to make a little hole.

KeymasterRe: ‘No Call Out Charge’ beware!!!
Well the plot thickens as they say, I am informed that this may well be the source of many of the “free callout” ads in YP etc with an 0800 number for various manufacturers, we’ve all seen them and been sickened by them. Well if you were an agent for one of the manufacturers you were as they kinda make out that they are semi-official ads which they most certainly are not.
Anyway, if this is the case then I’m off to dance a little jig as that’s another problem solved for now. 😉

And just so we retain a copy of the text at that link…

SO16 3AYDate: 4th August 2004
Media: Directory
Sector: Household
Public Complaint From: Southampton
——————————————————————————–Complaint:
Objection, via Southampton City Council, to a directory advertisement for a white goods repair service. The headline stated “No Call Out Charge”. In smaller type the subheading stated “Diagnostic work charged unless work undertaken”. The complainant objected that the headline “No Call Out Charge” was misleading, because customers who did not need maintenance work were charged a diagnostic fee.Codes Section: 3.1, 7.1 (Ed 11)
Adjudication:
Complaint upheld
The advertisers said they had prepared the advertisement with help from the CAP Copy Advice team. They believed their use of “no call out charge” was justified because they did not make a charge for going to customers’ homes. They said they always made a diagnostic charge, which they waived if the customer made a purchase or a repair was undertaken. The advertisers said they charged for diagnosis only once and did not charge customers who called them out again for follow-up diagnostic work. They said they explained their charges to customers before telephone bookings were accepted. They argued that the advertisement made clear that they charged a diagnosis fee unless work was undertaken. The advertisers said many of their competitors who advertised “no call out charge” also made a diagnostic charge but did not mention it in their advertising. The Authority acknowledged the advertisers had taken advice from the CAP Copy Advice team. It considered, however, that customers would understand “No Call Out Charge” to mean they paid a charge only if repair work was carried out and would not pay a charge for calling the advertisers out to diagnose a problem. The Authority considered that the claim “Diagnostic work charged unless work undertaken” contradicted the headline “No Call Out Charge” and asked the advertisers not to repeat the headline.
I find it insane that anyone would travel to a customers home for nothing especially with fuel prices what they are these days, in a low-profit industry like ours. I mean fine if you’re a builder and charging hundreds or thousands of pounds on a job but we’re not and the completed work does not have the margins to sustain the free call out. Apart from that you get used by the punters, they’re not that stupid, and often get three or four estimates, of course always accepting the lowest one.
It’s been a problem in our industry for 20 years or more, it needs stopped IMO and it looks as if the Advertising Standards Authority agrees with me.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch, we all know it and so does the ASA.

KeymasterOverloading, worn clothes gaurd on the door seal, rough edge on the inner drum, there’s a few things it could be in all honesty.
Are the tears like cuts, as in not frayed, or do they look ripped?

KeymasterIt does indeed exist and the fan element is literally a small version of the normal two turn Candy element. I don’t know the part number offhand as its years since I’ve used one but Trio AVM is the correct model number.
The GIAS website has a note… See the fiche!
Give Hoover/GIAS spares a ring and ask to speak to Alan Knock, he’ll be able to tell you what it is. 😉

Anyway, I think both are too busy trying to rescue DASA right now to be bothering about what the “trade terrorists” are up to. 😉
The War Room, whilst it has expanded it’s membership of late, is a closed shop for brainstorming and getting a united front on many issues before they come to light in the general trade. It is also where strategies on many affairs are formed and as such, to a degree, I guess all of us in here set the standard for others to follow. Whether that seems subversive or not is irrelevant as many are too apathetic to get off their arses and get stuck in and we have to do a lot of it in private. DASA used to attempt to do it using the council meetings and there is still some value in that, but we can get the information out to more people a hell of a lot faster than DASA ever invisaged.
Anyway, whilst I would like to see more input from DASA’s leading lights it appears that they have no time for it at present. 😕
