KeymasterLOL Andy, nice to hear from you again. Are you attending our little get together in Stafford as I do believe I owe you a beer?
The facility to sell excess stock using the shop, it was agreed, is restricted to subscribers. So stump up! 😆

KeymasterRay,
Some manufacturers take the hump when we share the info, which is sad I know, but that’s the way it is. I would get hung, drawn and quartered if I were to publish tech info on here without express written permission.
Of course we don’t actually share the infomation, merely offer advice, which is allowed. 🙂
I know, it’s a fine line.
I would dearly LOVE to put up a seperate secure site with all the PDF’s etc that are available easily but I don’t think any of them would go for it, even if we actually charged for the service. But hey, I keep an open mind and I’ll await any manufacturer proving me wrong.
But then when you charge that much for a DVD and force everyone to buy it… 😉

KeymasterOkay Mark, Flipper & JP can you please get the idiots that keep posting the same thing over and over to chuck it!I’m not just talking about UKW either, two emails this afternoon about the same meeting as well as 3 posts on UKW and at least 2 from memory on DASAnet, I mean that just makes it look as if it’s desperate!
I tried to kill that in the first post when I had pop at Scott about the constant “please email me”, why? Is he lonely or something? I mean really it’s getting silly and starting to look like pleas for attention rather than information.
In fact “cross-posting” as it is known is seriously frowned upon in the internet community and Scott of all people, as he is a webmaster, should know that and know it’s taboo. Which indicates to me, again along with other gems, that he has not the experience or knowledge to run a web forum. But that wasn’t my call thankfully. If he tries that on a site run by net-nazis he’ll at best get flamed, but probably banned from using the forum.
It is unproffessional, looks bad even to people unaware of the netiquitte of it and just regarded as spam, therefore ignored as will his posts be as they all contain the same old tired information and therefore loose weight.
If you really want to get a message across come up with imaginative ways to do it, or stage the release of the information so that you get more than one bite of the cherry and people keep reading to see what’s going on. But that takes planning and a moderate amount of intelligence. 😆

KeymasterThe biggest problem I encounter with the cheaper machines is complaints about the door or fascia getting too hot on both built-in and freestanding. The reasons are many for this but in the main, the cheaper the appliance the more likely you are to encounter this as, by stripping out the likes of a cooling fan or a glazing layer, they make the product cheaper.
However, even what many customers qualify as unacceptable is actually within the BSI Guidelines which you can find notes on in the Articles section.
Other than what CJ has pointed out, which is just plain common sense and good advice really, there’s not a lot to tell.
I am aware that Smeg manufactured dishwashers under other brand names but I have not seen any ovens or cookers by Smeg being sold under another brand.

KeymasterThanks, we try on occasion. 😉
You’ll see now some of the first parts up in the XS-Stock bit today. Whilst I don’t know if we’ll move any of that gear yet I guess on UKW it’s being exposed to a LOT of people from both trade and retail so it’s worth chipping a part number in the Shop search box, bottom right on the main front page. You never know you may pick up a bargain yourself. 😀
Who knows, you may even turn old stock into cash, which is always a satisfying experience. 😉

KeymasterNo there is no such thing as Sky have not released a CAM for the system as it would, most likely, seriously put the security of the NDS encryption at risk. Hence the only record to HDD option for Sky is via Sky+, TiVo or a very Heath Robinson PC set up through a capture card using software only, not ideal.

KeymasterI was trying to be kind, you’re right it is actually lower than that.

KeymasterWell, rumour would have it that a Merloni machine, washer, is LANDED incl TAX for under £100. That fits with other things I hear on the grapevine as well, it’s scary.

KeymasterLOL, I thought that too but Dave did it, not me! 😆
I’ll reword it a bit eh? 😉

KeymasterYeah and doing the graphics, photos and adding products is a time killer that’s for sure and what we’ve been so busy doing of late.
It’s not yet fully live as stated but I thought it was time to let you all see what we’ve been up to with it for the past month or so, so there you go. We still have a lot of work to do on it though.
SSL will be added in the fulness of time.

KeymasterYeah, I know, it’s true of most machines these days but Servis users tend to be…ehm…not the brightest stars in the heavens. 😕 TBH, we used to get loads of calls for it as well, way out of proportion with any other manufacturer so you can only conclude one of two things, either the OOB sensor is too sensitive or the customer’s are just doing things they shouldn’t be. It’s safer to assume the latter and if they still want to complain then they can.
But there again when you try to spin something with the rigidity of a Coke can at 1200rpm + then seriously, what do you expect for £200! 😆

KeymasterWhat are you looking for as both Dave and I do have access to Brandt gear?
