Re: Samsung EcoBubble Washing Machine Help Please

I can’t see how your machine could cause that as the valve simply opens and closes, like a tap pretty much and doesn’t do much of anything else.

Re: Are any Tumble driers safe from Fire ??????????

They pretty much all won’t go on fire…

    If maintained correctly.

    If installed correctly.

    If used correctly.

If not, then any of them can “go on fire” although it’s not the dryer that goes on fire, it’s what’s in it that does.

Thanks Don, changed the first to “frenzy” as it is a feeding frenzy and the second corrected.

And I’m sure Jim will get me on something, he usually does. 😉

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

No, I believe it’s more about the media revelling in self-glorification over championing consumer rights that, in reality, do not exist or just misrepresenting the reality.

Fact is that, according the manufacturer they are safe to use. Whether that is true or not and whether people want to accept that or not isn’t really relevant.

Sure, they’ll whine and b1tch about it but, it is what it is.

You do have a simple way out though, refer them to Trading Standards as they have agreed with Whirlpool the modification and the advice that the machines are safe to use.

So it’s not you saying it, it’s the manufacturer and TS.

Then get into the legal stuff if needed but it shouldn’t be and, there’s nothing there anyway.

Got to be the diverter valve or board then I’d imagine.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Good and correct answer Martin. 🙂

It is a tumble dryer to dry clothes.

Does it dry clothes and has it done so since purchase:

    YES: Fit for purpose

    NO: Not fit for purpose

They don’t become “not fit for purpose”, nothing does. It either was or wasn’t when it was bought and if some years down the track it breaks or whatever well, it’s broken and needs fixed.

The spin being that it has become “not fit” due to a failure but, so is a car with a flat tyre for Pete’s sake and you sure as shootin’ won’t get a new one due to that or, pretty much any other component failure, even a complete engine failure.

Same with recalls (or safety mods) also in the car industry, you don’t get a new car as it needs a mod done. That’s just a totally stupid notion, just as it is here.

What they’re worth set out here, more to help those facing such idiotic claims than anything else…

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … e-is-worth

Essentially, second hand machines are worth almost nothing.

Re: Spray Arms not turning at all on Lamona 8670 (Beko make)

Seems as if it’s connected to the main board so, if it gets no power then it’s either the board (relay or something on it most likely) that’s faulty or the wiring to it.

If it returns though you know that’s probably good.

If it doesn’t you’re not really any further forward.

If it detects a problem then it *should* throw up an error code.

Connect show the inner door Jim but not the outer so, must split down.

But, the inner door shows with an RRP of £129 so it ain’t gonna be cheap!

Re: Spray Arms not turning at all on Lamona 8670 (Beko make)

Live testing is not a thing you want to be doing and you risk burning the motor out running it with no load, apart from the obvious dangers in doing that. Like, of death!

I looked through the tech on it but there’s no resistances given I’m afraid.

Fault guide on the value, check for normal operation then check main board. Not exactly helpful.
