KeymasterThere isn’t a drain hole and not supposed to be one.
It’s an air-driven fridge and freezer so cold air is syphoned off from the freezer into the fridge, a fan unit at the back of the freezer behind the evaporator does that.
First thing to do though is, as explained here:
Work out if it’s air ingress or a leak.

KeymasterI’d need the product code to be sure but it sounds like a thermostat problem but, you’d really need to temp test it to be sure.

KeymasterWhen you say frost forming on the sides… where?

KeymasterI have heard that the site the factory was on is being sold.
All the tooling and machinery was also up for sale.
I’m sure many have noticed that there’s a lot of parts that are nigh or just completely impossible to get as well now.
So I’m guessing that’s pretty much that. End of the road for a lot of machines out there.

KeymasterIs this a non-EU model as there’s no hits for that? If it’s non-EU I can’t look anything up for you. 🙁

KeymasterWe need the service number to look up anything at all and you can find out what that is and where to find it here:
https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/spare-parts/finding-parts/4335-liebherr-spare-parts
It does sound as though the fan motor is kaput though.
Ice build up, that would need testing, is likely to be a sensor issue.

KeymasterASWO are brilliant, not for everyone I appreciate but they are very good.

KeymasterThey are open.. ish…
Some customers are getting orders but I think they’re restricted due to social distancing so it’s not all and I can tell you that orders are painfully slow in coming. That said, they are not the only ones that are slow just now, shipping for most is still (or can be) a big issue as all carriers are slower than normal.
Then there’s the manufacturers who are largely all having issues as well.

KeymasterI already did that but he’s still couped up in hospital and goodness knows when he’ll get out.

KeymasterHe had a problem with his leg. Didn’t want to go in due to Covid and worried he’d get it in there…. then got the Covid!! 🙁

KeymasterUpdate.
Sean is still very unwell but off the ventilator and breathing on his own. 🙂
Three ops on his leg though as well and he’s been told, it’ll be months before he can work again. 🙁

KeymasterThat can be the sensors on those as well Dave, they don’t read right to the board and they do whacky stuff like inconsistent temps and that goes either way. Basically it thinks the internal cabinet temp is too high so doesn’t shut down the pot… frozen milk, tomoatoes like cannonballs etc.
The sensors going on them is very common (it would appear from personal experience ;)) and one at least is always buried in the rear insulation behind the rear fridge wall.

KeymasterThe original one is obsolete Ray, not a hope of one or one that’s a straight swap now. The Whirlpool replacement for it, they made that cabinet, is a VT9 at a stupid price.
The closest I have found for that is this one:
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/a13-0447-fridge-freezer-thermostat
It fits and works but it’s a bit of a pig to get into some of them but, there’s that, a VT9 or a new fridge… that’s the choices on offer.

KeymasterNo, I’m hoping it works out and Sean’s okay but that doesn’t sound good at all. 🙁
