If it was ice blocking the fan it’s possibly defrosted enough to let it work.

It is a frost free unit so it could be a number of things, there’s not any obvious issues that jump out.
Sp, fan motor, sensor/s, compressor and so on could all be suspects but a grinding noise would suggest something mechanical meaning fan motor faulty or blocked in some way or the compressor.
Without stripping out the fan etc and seeing what the score is there’s no way to know if that’s the problem.

Trust that illustrious beacon of balanced reporting of the truth to pile in with something “SHOCKING!“. The “shocking” part is the failure to research or actually present a balanced report but heh ho, that’s the UK press for you.

That one’s a Vestel machine to find parts I need the long serial number around the door opening. It’s probably the lid springs and/or hinges.

My personal opinion, to call it a fire risk is a bit of an overreaction.
The lock might overheat and burn out, fair enough. But “fire”, really?

If you’re not doing much volume PayPal, iZettle, Square are all much of a muchness. Easy enough to set up and use.
PayPal has more “recognition” if you will but I don’t know how charges compare.
We looked at it with the WTA to try to get lower charges but unless you can get people to all move as one it’s nigh impossible to get a deal.
