It’d be more likely, I’d think, to be the bi metal stat or the heater that was faulty in that cabinet.

It means:
Missing communication between user interface and powerboard
And suggests:
- Check wiring
- Check User Interface
- Check powerboard

I know, I’ve tried repeatedly to sort it a bit or, make it less intrusive but it’s not under our control but that of Google’s.
I dialled them down, they rung usability etc experiments and change the bloody things, it’s cat and mouse but I’ve altered it again.

It’s an easy target. Prove it. One way or another.
Most of the evidence, such as there might be, is charred, burnt and probably mostly unrecognisable so fathoming the actual cause, most likely close to impossible so it becomes the best guess.
It’s easy to say the “whatever appliance” was the cause. But, ever so hard to prove it to be so.
Before anyone has a pop (feel free, I’m game ;)) proving it so through empirical evidence and fact is completely different to, “it is because I say so” or whatever.
