Thanks for the super fast response.

Special order with Connect. Cannot it be ordered from anywhere else?

    Thanks Boro,

The motor is leaking into the base. Is it ok to just change the seal unit or does this get complicated with corrosion etc.

    Re: More New Faulty Elements

Many of the things stated here about dampness etc maybe true. But my original post (see top of page) was to do with a definite breakdown of the components immediately or within minutes of fitting ie. popped the house earth trip.

I have since been rung by a guy at Connect who confirmed this was a problem and indeed in the interim said if I needed an element and a pattern was not available I could have the genuine at the same price. That was a ironic since some pattern elements are more expensive than genuine.

I believe a particular pattern manufacturer is at fault and the problem is were the elements terminate with the little round ceramic insulator. Inspecting the duds the ceramic insulator sits skew at the ends with gaps around it. Elements with good terminations seem to have red sealant of some sort applied to were the ceramic terminator plugs into the element sleeve with a nice snug fit.

    Hi Steve,

The part number you have given me is one my supplier recognises and has in stock.

Thanks very much for your effort and kindness in posting it here, it is very much appreciated.

I have acknowledged it here in the forum:

    Hi

This is a photo of the part required. I understand the part number to be HVR09061938 or HVR680466. It is a special order with Connect and may even come back as obselete. Can anyone recognise it…have any of you veterans got one hanging about?

There should be a piece protruding from the middle but that is what is broken.

    Thanks,

    Laurence

    Thanks for your input.

These elements I mention above are probably super cheap but the ELE3721 is £14 from Connect so I certainly expect something better.

Re: Bosch T/Drier WTA3204GB/09 No Heat?

    Thanks Greg,

I found the `Dry` light was flashing.

I changed prog selection and the m/c started ok. Unfortunately the customer was not present so I did not have a pile of clothes to try. I did put in a couple of small spun towels I found. When tumbling I found the heating very intermittent but this may have been due to your assertion that small loads will be problematic.

The machine continued to work (rotate) on all progs whenever I started it and no flashing occured at all. I am awaiting customers feedback.

Why the problem occured in the first place I have no Idea. I was not able to ask if she was drying a small load.

    Thanks again,

    Laurenc

When I read this post I instantly imagined those Miele tech bods rolling around their workshop like those aliens in the Smash powdered packet potato tv advert a good few years ago..remember `for mash get Smash`.

I think you need to be quite old to remember that one 🙁 .
