Re: Bosch dishwasher not draining SGS5358GB/17

Should always test the obvious ,,, who said that ?

Checked the hose and it was clean but did not check the connector to the multi-drain.
Opened up the connector and there was my very own mini fat-berg disc that was blocking the dishwasher but not the main sink drainage.
Removed this and completed the test and draining correctly.

Many thanks for you assistance yet again.

    Dave

correct checked with she that knows and yes it is 17 years old 🙂
The recall was activated and a youth came to change the module and put his sticker on, still have his beanie hat he left behind.
Is there a diagnostic test that will run the pump ?
As I said I ran the Reset and you can hear the water being pumped through the machine via the spinning arms, is there 1 pump that runs both wash and drain or are we looking at 2 pumps?
At the end of 20 minutes wash activity the reset ends at 2 with a machine hum
(is this the pump trying to run but jammed ).

Is it best to take the pump out to fully check if there is debris I do not see from the top ?

    Dave

I have only checked the impeller blades rotate not the mechanism behind this.
Is there a guide to accessing the pump body and checking if it is jammed ?

    Re: JLWM1203 stops mid-program

Removed the motor again, getting better can now remove and replace the motor without tilting the machine.
The permanent magnet at in the tachometer had come undone, screwed it back into the shaft end and replaced the retaining cap.
Drain cycle test ran correctly with the spin starting at the correct speed.
Looks like all is working as it should again.

Many thanks for your assistance Dave

    Re: JLWM1203 stops mid-program

    Spoke too soon.
Ran 2 washes ok now the machine stopped at end of cycle with water still in.
Ran the drain cycle, it pumps the water then when it should spin it goes to high speed spin but with a jump of the whole machine then immediately slows, as if the jump has tripped a miss-alignment sensor.
Ran the diagnostic and it stops at E52 again.
    any suggestions ?

Success, new brushes installed and machine working fine.
Many thanks electrofix, £10 for brushes and delivery and all is well again.

Great site will tell everyone about it again.

    electrofix
Good spot , I have tested the brushes (hit with screwdriver) and they look like they are the cause. Ran the spin cycle and the drum turned for me.
Will order some new brushes and see if that is the only issue.

    Seamy

    many thanks for your help.
I took the advice given earlier and ordered a new heating element.
That has done the trick, it WORKS !!

attached is a picture of the old element, after I have clean a load of limescale and gunk off it, I don’t think the black parts are designed !

Great site I will pass it on , and hopefully not have to visit again too often ;-))

    Re: JLWM1203 Electrolux tripping RCD

How do I confirm the make of the machine ?
other post for JLWM1203 said theirs was Zanussi.

went through the diagnostic and it came back with E42 –
E40 Door open, door interlock, wiring or main PCB
    E41 Door open
E42 Problems with aperture of the door

Pretty much the same as E40 and E41 fault codes.

    so none the wiser.

    Re: JLWM1203 Electrolux tripping RCD

    Thanks Seamy
Unfortunately I guessed at door interlock and ordered one before seeing your reply, 🙁 anyone need a working door lock.
Checked out Google and tested the heater, it is showing 29 ohms so should be OK, but this is a hardwater area so pulled the heater out to look at it. The element is caked in limescale and has black scorch marks on 2 legs of element. Not sure if the marks are a sign of failure when power is put into it.
