ParticipantOur 8 year old DC04 absolute is still sucking the pattern off the carpet. our new DC025 animal is sucking the carpet off the floor. As I am allergic to dust, pollen and have asthma. the hepper filter on both have made a very noticeable difference.

ParticipantThe Hetty they use in my gym is useless, a 90 year old could do better with false teeth in.

ParticipantThink we will have to agree to disagree on that.

ParticipantI wont be getting a sebo, because it uses bags and filters that have to be replaced regularly. And until someone brings out a bagles thats as good as a Dyson I will be sticking with them. As I said our 8 year old Dyson is still going strong so who knows it could still be around in another 20 years.

ParticipantRe: Which Vacuum Cleaner?
Well a cleaner that is still going after nearly 8 years has had a good life, as for getting the job done, it dose first time. I agree all other bagles cleaners are total crap. Yes most bags are now bio degradable, but plastic isn’t and as I said a lot of bags come with plastic bits on them.
I’m not a tree hugger by the way.

ParticipantRe: Which Vacuum Cleaner?
Well our 7 nearly 8 year old DC04 is still giving perfect performance and removing dirt every other cleaner I have seen leaves behind. in all that time I have not had to buy bags or filters so that must have saved quite a lot of natural resources. It was also made in the UK. I know SEBO are good but you do need a new bag every time its full and there bags are 1/ quite pricey and 2/ have plastic caps. So even if our new Dyson that was built halfway round the world lasts as long as our old one it will still have less of an impact.

ParticipantI also think a bagless is better for the environment, as there are no bags. And as some bags have plastic bits on them they will still be around in 1000 years.

ParticipantRe: Which Vacuum Cleaner?
I just empty it into the wheely bin. the newer Dysons with the push button opening are even better. Other bagless machines can be extremely messy especially the filters.

ParticipantRe: Build quality and brand names!
I just hope we don’t brake down on the way to the party. With the wife dressed as a witch and me as a surgeon covered in blood :rolling:

ParticipantRe: Which Vacuum Cleaner?
You don’t get that problem with a Dyson. you just tip the cr#P in the bin and off you go. All other bagles cleaners are totally rubbish and clog in no time.

ParticipantRe: Are Kirby`s worth the money
Many moons ago I started training to be a Kirby salesman. After 2 days I left. They had some good features, like having a power take off for things like drills etc, but there sales techniques, prices and performance left a lot to be desired.
