basket slots spacings on larger place machines to be closer together.

    Hmm yes wouldn’t surprise me.
I only ask because in my 22 year old – now to be replaced bosch dish washer I can just about squeeze in my BBQ grill rack and was hoping to be able to also do so in my new one – so I went for a 13 place.
16 place you say 😮 how do they do that in a 600×600 box

Thank you for your links with that I was able to check models for a plastic bottom.
I went for the Bosch SMS46IW10G in the end that has an all S/S tub. £466.
I wanted a smeg as per your recommendation and I did look in the usual places but there didn’t seem to be much choice as I wanted a white one and didn’t want to pay over £500 there was one but it was the cheapest model at £360 and very basic there were some between that and the £500 mark but none i could see in white.

Really helpful, thank you so much. Just found this one Bosch Serie 2 SMS2HKW66G at £449. I know its my choice but is it really worth spending and extra £100 for a S/S tub.

I just don’t know what to do now. I know that whatever I get that it will not be as good as my old one. Is there any forums on here that talk about best ones to buy or what make is recommended. Or what bosch model has an all stainless interior.

Thank you for your help. I think in that case its the end of the road for this old workhorse. the link you kindly gave is £55.96. Against a new serie 2 SMS21Tw08G at £349.
I am just thinking at 22 years old now other things must be near their end too. Its a gamble – I could spend £55 and something else gos next week.
How easy is it to fit.

Just wanted to report back to say that the new sat seems to be working great for 3 days and the fridge dial is back down to 3 like it used to be. Thank you Dave for your expert help with this – you have saved another fridge from the landfill.

thanks — yet again Dave. i will report back when fitted. One thing i noted when i last replaced the stat is that to get the correct temp the dial had to go up to 7 when before it was always around 4 if I remember correctly. My suspicion is that it was never the correct replacement

Can I remove the photos in my already uploaded media to make space, to then upload an image to help with a problem and then when the problem is sorted I can delete it ready for the next problem

    Right. Continuing saga.
I have received my order from CPC but the numbers on the new stat are not K59 L4106 which is what was stated on the website.
    But the number is K59-P4967
    The other numbers are
    K59-P4967
    19-23-02S
    H2622.

The numbers on my original are
    K59 L4106
    96-4-21P21
    H2622
So should I send it back or is it the equivalent replacement I need, the printed number on the packaging that I have not opened is C00261055

Thought I should update this. The stat has been in my basket to buy but ever since the fridge has been behaving its self with a perfect temp – until today it has not been on and is warm, I flicked and fiddled with the wire behind the panel but that made no difference so I gave the stat housing a sharp bang and on it came.
So just to be sure – do we think it could be anything else apart from the stat – before I buy one.

I see so I have fitted it correctly after all I would say it is about a 4 inch circle hasn’t got a complete contact with the plate because its impossible to get it to do that. I could have a play with the size and position of the loop to se if that helps. Or am I wasting my time.
Thanks again Dave you have been a great help. I looked at buying a new fridge today needs to be 500 wide but they are all smaller dimentions inside than mine and the salad box is tiny – you could just about get a cucumber in there (if you bit the end off ) I suppose they have extra insulating material

Here is the housing unscrewed from the side of the fridge, you can see the wire sits inside the channel and the tucks behind the cooling panel in a loose coil sort of in the position behind my ring.
