Well, I replaced the 4 capacitors on the rear board and I’ve still got clicking, anything else I can change? What about on the front board, in fact where is the front board? I can’t even find it!
If these boards only cost £4 each to make, does anybody know who makes them? if so can you buy them directly from the manufacturer.Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!
Dented Porsche, thanks for the quick reply, yes I’m going to try the fix, I have ordered the capacitors from RS, not sure which of the 4 to change so I’m thinking is it worth changing all 4? I have clicking occaisonally and spurting water when ice maker is on (currently turned off), cooling is OK though.

Mine is still clicking, in fact it now clicks when the icemaker is off & no water dispensed. I am impressed with the fix that has been devised, so i think I’ll give it a go.

Do I need to fix both boards?Seems to me that this problem is quite a common one, surely theres some mileage in bombarding Whirlpool with letters on this.
I’m also worried that it will need to be fixed again and again in the future.Mikeg68, what is the part number from RS?

Hi greg, unfortunately I have no warranty, I bought it as slightly damaged, (scratched door) in february. Is it an easy thing to change?

I am having a similar problem with my water dispenser. It dispenses water in spurts too, also when the ice maker is using water you can hear the same clicking, but when I open my door, the clicking is slower, also the light flases on and off. If I turn the ice maker off the water dispenses normally. If it is a relay, where is the circuit board located?and is it possible to just replace the relay
