LM grease is the stuff for bearings. You can only get at the back one BTW – the other one and the seal are up against the back of the drum.

The temperature is contolled digitally by a thermistor sensor and a comparator array on the computer board. It is theoretically possible for the sensor to go out of regulation, but generally they work or they don’t. Failure would lead to the electronics deciding that the sensor is not present (fault) or temperature rise not detected in time allowed (fault). You shoiuld perform a service wash from time to time – run the machine empty with some powder at full heat – temperature will be much more noticable without a load on board.

Quite seriuosly, I’d get a replacement belt and see how things go from there.

Re: Bosch WTA4408 – Not heating

There will be more to it than pressing the reset under the rear panel. The machine is basically an air pump – if the flow becomes restricted an overheat will result. Check vent hose is not kinked/trapped/fluffed-up, the through-the-wall ducting likewise. You should feel a good draught of air at the outlet duct.

Power off before removing any panel,

    To answer your points:

From the front of the machine, observe where the door seal and inner drum line up. Put your hand into the top of the drum and try to lift. If there is any movement visible between the lip of the drum and the edge of the door seal, the drum bearings are failing and will need to be replaced.

The drive belt itself is eleasticated. They do stretch over time and can give rise to squealing noises and the occasional throwing off under load. Replacement is p/no C00074218, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you wish to order one.

Please dont apply WD40 to the bearings – it will wash the grease out and shorten their life.

Heat – the wash water level in the drum is so low on these appliances that often the door glass will barely reflect the heat of the wash water. In addition, if the machine were not to heat the water within a given period the electronics would register a fault, causing the power lamp to flash and the programme dial to start clunking round.

Terminal block burning out or catastrophic timer failure.

Either way, power off when investigating.

Re: Creda Cordialle fan oven stopped

There can be up to four screws through the oven cavity surrround retaining the oven in its housing. As far as I recall with these there is no internal fuse in this appliance. Being a single box oven, it may be connected to a 13amp socket. The plug should certainly be fused.

    Power off when investigating.

The part is not available as it doesn’t work. That is why the drum replacement kit was introduced.

    Re: NEFF Oven low temp.

Which oven have you got Dick?

Fan motor should run at about 2,800rpm. If it appears to be idling over it will not distrubute heat around the oven correctly.

A multifunction oven will have an element surrounding the fan for assisted cooking and may have elements under the oven floor or in the oven roof for static cooking. The selector switch may allow various combinations of the elements to be used.

Thermostats can go out of adjustment due to loss of gas from the capillary tube, deterioration of the contacts within the stat switch (they arc when they cycle), the capillary getting nipped or kinked, or the probe in the oven box becoming totally coated with oven muck.

Door seals not doing their job properly can lose a surprising amount of heat, hinges not pulling the door shut properly will do the same.

Plenty of things to check…….. 🙂

    Re: indesit we14 error F-09

If the error code is to be believed, you have a problem with the computer board corrupting. Solution is usually a replacement.

Be advised that the codes are not especially reliable, and the computer board is expensive! It may well be best to get a professional diagnosis to avoid an expensive mistake.

Power off if you are going to investigate further,
