PCB – £130 last time I checked. This is why you have inherited it at such a young age, almost certainly.

Re: Candy CDI 45 – unable to select program

Oh dear, another Chinese one; shockingly bad. Check that the tray under the machine is not full of water – the float cut-off switch will stop anything working. If there’s water, drain it off and leave the machine for a couple of days to dry out. You never know, it might start working again. If the tray is dry, try holding down the programme button and then switching on. It may re-set.

For God’s sake, don’t spend any real money on it. If the pcb has failed, now is the time to buy something decent. As a professional repairer, I would refuse this particular job – you would expect a guarantee on the work and I have no confidence in the product. If you really want to fix it, I can only suggest that you contact Candy.

Power off if you intend to have a peek.

Well done. Don’t put yourself down – there’s far too many people out there who’ll do that for you if you let them.

Nope. Indesit sold them the entire old production line. They’re a shoddy copy of a machine which wasn’t very good to start with.

Lots of drain pumps held on with tyraps:

    Just shockingly poor.

I can open the pdf files, can’t open the ones with spots one – computer says it needs to find the programme which created it.

Can someone unlock “vulch” please? Wasn’t sure about the .fm address. Julia has pointed out that Formosa doesn’t exist anymore.
