That’s like saying it’s a Capri or an Astra. I know where you are, but I don’t know what you’ve got. Which one have you got? These old T/B numbers were TB—-, CAW—- and the like.

So you’ve checked everything except the drain pump then? It’ll be either blocked or failed. Power off, tip it back to a good angle, base panel off, twist off pump, remove foreign body.

Take the 432 off the front and you’ve got a Merloni p/no.

ParticipantRe: Miele W844 tripping fuseboard breaker
Water level control is a known issue with these machines – the pressure chamber fills with sludge and causes under-filling, which damages the heater, leading to earthing faults as the element breaks down.
Power off if you’re going to open the front and have a look.

It’ll be already broken, Jaunty.
Grip the timer knob firmly and turn the cap anti-clockwise. This will pop off and reveal a 7mm nut. Undo it and remove the knob. Looking into the hole thus revealed, you should see a red or green plastic ring. This will have jumped its location on the cam inside. Remove the programme indicator and clean everything thoroughly – it’s a classic “greased up” problem.
The plastic ring is p/no 1245817026 and the knob is 50247249001 (The cap sometimes breaks when you try and remove it). spares@ukwhitegoods will be able to supply the parts if required.

Done a bit of checking on this – you’ve got an oddity here. The level switch is (obviously) not fitted to your appliance, which would suggest that water level control is purely a function of the flow meter.
However….. Looking at the parts listing for that 12nc code shows that the level switch is listed, under “Kit”. I can only assume that the kit is the sump moulding, level switch, pcb and wiring as some sort of conversion. As usual with Whirlpool, there is no Tech note or guidance to be found.
There are a few Whirlpool engineers who post on the forum – if they pick up on this, they may be able to add some detail. Beyond that, I’m now stuck.
