ParticipantSo, I’ve taken the back off, couldn’t see anything obviously wrong – the belt is still on…
The odd thing is that when it goes to spin it does move – sometimes it’ll do a quarter turn or a half turn, but that’s it. Any suggestions what might cause that…? Motor (or brushes) the likely culprit?February 15, 2022 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Bosch Series 6 won’t spin and displays ‘wrong’ programme times #481106PeteWilliams
ParticipantThinking about it, I think the programme times is red herring – I think it knows it can’t spin, so is deducting the spin times from the normal times of those cycles.

No, it won’t stay shut, without the lock in place there it swings open naturally.
But I bought a new catch and it now works fine.

ParticipantAnyone any ideas? Worth ordering another door catch and seeing if that fixes it…?

ParticipantSo I’ve removed the three lower covers run it and had a look. It’s still leaking but I can’t see where from – there doesn’t appear to be any dripping, a puddle just appears.
Can anyone suggest any specific areas it might be coming from?

Being an integrated unit, it doesn’t have sides, it’s just exposed insulation – if those are the sides you mean?
It stopped again today, but I couldn’t see where the leak was coming from. Pretty difficult just looking through the gap where the panel was at the bottom front – is there a better way to get a look/diagnose the issue? Thanks

Participant‘dried out’ not ‘tried it out’!

ParticipantUPDATE: I replaced the brushes and it worked for two cycles, and then stopped again.
This seems to be what happens everytime I’ve unplugged it and jiggled the wiring/brushes about a big – it works for one or two spins then stops spinning again.Any suggestions on what else to try? There is a used motor on eBay I could buy. Would that be a sensible next step or is there anything else I could try first?

ParticipantWell the error’s come back a couple times now 🙁
I reset the error, checked the connector was firmly in, had a look at the brushes, and then ran it again and it was fine for a day or two.
Now it’s come back again. Any suggestions of what else to check?I’ve ordered some new brushes – they were more worn down than I’d expected given they’ve only been in use 6 months (though admittedly it’s used a lot in that time – we have 6 messy kids…)
Odd that the first set of brushes lasted about 7 years and then second set have worn down 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in 6 months. Might that just be because they weren’t genuine Bosch parts, or could there be another issue? Thanks

ParticipantSorted it thanks – the electrical connector to the motor had come a bit loose, so pushed it back in and it seems OK now.

ParticipantIndeed there was – a child’s Minion badge!
Thanks for your help.October 20, 2019 at 2:02 pm in reply to: Washing machine – noisy motor after changing brushes #463810PeteWilliams
ParticipantThanks both. After a week’s worth of running, the noise from the brushes has settled down and seems fine.
There is however another issue I need to tackle. At some points – I think it’s when it’s draining – it makes a horrible gravelly noise.
You can hear it at the start of this video where I set it to drain: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2agpta668oEiQqVc9Any suggestions as to what this noise might be and how I can go about fixing it?
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Terim Electric Fan Oven Instruction Manual
If anyone has a copy of the manual for this I’d love a copy please, as I’m yet to work out what all the hieroglyphics around the dial mean!
Please email it to: pete.wiliams82@gmail.com
Thanks
