I’ve found with base elements that you can often slide in a different one to the original by bending brackets or drilling new holes.

It’s 01-3010. 01 is the colour; 3010 is the model but I haven’t got a parts list for that one. You should be able to find a universal thermostat to fit, but some Brandt and Bernstein ovens take an unusual one that rotates through 315 degrees (of rotation, not temperature); part 76X3759.

Proves my point. Each of these exquisite examples of pond life has a much longer lifespan than a Chinese – built dishwasher (and as far as the fourth one’s concerned that isn’t a joke).

Please don’t insult pond life by comparing it with white goods manufacturers. It performs a useful function in nature and I happen to like it.

Replaced with the 40TH16/F8 which is now obsolete. Does anybody have one?

It did turn out to be a Diamond H thermostat; no. 90TH16/F8 if anybody has one.

    Re: Moffatt Cooker 2636B

I’m going to go and try and find out but it may not be visible as the customer reported it as burning and then going bang! It’s not a Diamond H ‘stat as it’s not listed in their old Controls handbook. I’ll report back in due course.

    Re: Baumatic fan oven element?

I went out to a Baumatic oven today and you guys are right, it didn’t take one of the common ones I was going on about, I fitted Qualtex’s ELE1100 which is probably similar to that Zanussi one. 😳

Yes, you’re quite right, I’ve just had another look; it did. I didn’t notice that the first time I looked 😯

    Thanks for that Mike.

Thanks Mike. I saw that but unless I misread it, it didn’t specifically say that one of them was the base. I thought there was a possibility that they could have both been the top element.

    Re: Baumatic fan oven element?

    Jim,
There are two or three common fan elements , all with the same mounting plate fixing centres, which fit a huge range of continental built ovens; getting the exact one isn’t important. Some have large holes, some smaller tapped holes, some studs. You can drill out the small holes or fit self-tapping nuts over the large ones, or remove the studs if necessary. You can fit the earth wire to one of the fixing screws if the element doesn’t have an earth terminal, or leave it off; it’s earthed through the fixing screws anyway. The exact wattage doesn’t matter either; any wattage between 2 and 2.5KW will do. If you take Connect’s ELE5204 and Qualtex’ ELE2040 one will almost certainly fit and if you don’t use them I’ll buy them off you as I use them all the time. You’ll only have a problem if the diameter of the ring is smaller; there are one or two ovens which have a smaller ring but can’t remember off hand which they are; one of the built-under double ovens is one of them. I think I’ve got one on the van and will report back on that in the morning.

Just had a look at Masterpart’s ZN1421; doubt if that’ll fit as it’s specific to Zanussi. Their HM14103 (Brandt’s 76X3719) is more likely to.
