ParticipantRe: Bosch WTA4107GB/01 not heating
Hi Martin,
Thanks for the quick reply. I assume that the exhaust stat is the non resettable one at the front of the dryer just under the drum adjacent to the exhaust with a grey wire on one terminal & a black one & yellow one on the other terminal? If that is the one then it has continuity. As far as I can see apart from the one above there is the resettable one on the lower part of the housing that covers the element & a non resettable one on the top part of the element casing nearer the centre of the drum & as all appear OK I can’t work out what the problem is. It doesn’t help that a lot of the wires are brown!!Cheers

ParticipantRe: Bosch tumble dryer heater?
Greg,
Thanks for the info on the contact at Bosch. Do you have a contact number or email address for him directly or is it a case of ringing the normal customer services & being on hold for ages!
Finally a quick question regarding the fitting of the replacement element. My dryer is stacked above the washer so I was wondering can I fit the element from the back of the dryer or is it from undeneath, as if the latter is the case I will obviously need to split the two units apart. Thanks again

Greg,
Yet another WTA 4107 element failure!! Following on from your PM I am going to take the matter of the elements dying just over the 12 months with Bosch but in the meantime I have bought a replacement from the UKW shop. The part number I have bought is 583170. I assume that this is an equivalent to the part number you have quoted which I assume is the genuine Bosch one.
I received the element yesterday but have not got round to fitting it yet. Any pointers gratefully appreciated so that I son’t dismantle anything unnecessarily! (I should have paid more attention when Dan changed the last one under warranty)
Also a big thanks to Dave? or is it Don? at the “shop” for the fast delivery & honest p&p charges of the heater elementCheers

You are correct Clive (Hows your dryer after Dansta sorted it?)
GregGreg,
The dryer has been fine since Dan changed the element 😀 So although mine was an earlier model I guess (WTA4107) it failed after 12 months.
Also can you thank Dan fot trying to find a replacement drain plug for the washing machineCheers

Cheers Dave,
I am guessing that the model my friend would want would be the Sebo BS46 which appears to be the largest of the commercial range. I will obviously need to check with her but some prices on the cleaner & accessories would be very usefulMany thanks

found the reset button, however using an ohm meter the element (disconnected) does not give a reading – so I assume this has gone.
I find this pretty poor for a 18mth old Bosch.

Hi,
I would have thought that the dryer would still be under warranty from Bosch as they are guaranteed as far as I am aware for 2 years, assuming that you have still got the invoice.cheers

Ken & Goatboy,
Having had a look at the Sebo commercial machines on their website they certainly seem the business. So the next question is does anybody have any recommendations as to where to purchase one from, assuming my pub friend likes it 🙂Cheers

I have a Sebo at home and it is superb, far better than the mucky coloured thing that it replaced. 😉
K.
Ken,
Did you have that “commercial” Dyson at home or are you referring to a domestic mucky coloured thing!! The Constanmax doesn’t appear to look any more robust than the domestic versions.Cheers
Clive
PS I take it you didn’t make it down to Birmingham last weekend.

Goatboy wrote:The Sebo are very good (and expensive 😕 ) vacuums. Especially for commerical situations.
I’d also recommend an Oreck, though these don’t come with the attachments, but they are very light-weight.
HTH
Thanks for the reply “Goatboy”. When you say the Sebo’s are expensive how expensive eg more than the Kirby?
I will have to have a look at both of these makes & see who sells them as I am not familiar with either of them.Cheers

Cheers Martin & I will be sending an e-mail shortly. Also am I correct in assuming that BS51114 is the complete pump assembly for my machine?

ParticipantRe: Bosch Maxx WFL 2450 Drain Pump Cap Removal
Greg,
Having removed the stacked dryer & turned the washer onto its side I have found out that the make of the pump fitted is an Askoll.
Whilst it was tipped I decided to have a look at what was causing the problem so removed the hose going into the pump from the drum & as you can probably guess it was blocked solid with all sorts of stuff. After eventually clearing all this I managed to finally unscrew the cap & although the bit that you hold to unscrew it is a bit knackered, on puting it all back together the machine now appears fine again 😀
Do you know how much the replacement part costs as I am sure it will eventually fail at some point in the future especially if we check it on a more regular basis in the future 🙂Cheers

Simon,
Can you tell me how far round the cap should turn i.e. should it come out with the handle at 9 o’clock or is it meant to turn more than thatCheers

This model has red reset on back. The element on these are different to other bosch vented dryers. Have had a few of these blown. Has a weird fitting aswell and if you have to change heater be methodical when disassembling.Heater p/no – 492159

GregThanks Greg,
I have found one very small red button to the bottom left inside the rear cover but this doesn’t appeared to have tripped so I am guessing that the element must have blown. As the dryer isn’t even a year old yet I am guessing that my best option is to contact Bosch themselves as I suppose they are the only ones that can do warranty repairs? I will let you know the outcome as soon as I know more. Thanks again

ParticipantRe: bosch wta 3100 no heat
I have a Bosch WTA 4107 which has also just stopped heating so does anyone know if this model has a reset button & if so where it is?
Many thanks
