ParticipantCheers – that was my thought from what I know about car suspension
samuelellis
ParticipantCheers for that, the parts are cheaper than I thought they would be. The reason I think the shocks are work is when it does its ramp up to test the balance the drum is allover the place causing the machine to sometimes quite literally jump before the OOB stops it. This seems to have gotten worse as time has gone on so my thoughts were that the shocks had worn out – Im basing my thinking on what happens when car shocks wear out. Ive already checked the leveling and that the concrete weights are firmly attatched and not loose
Do you think replacing the shocks will help this situation? I dont like seeing things get thrown if they can be fixed

ParticipantHey cheers for the reply – the ART is 191034/02
Am i right in thinking that it could be the shocks wearing out that is causing it to go into unbalanced spin and bounce around more? I do have to admit that when my partner uses it she has a habit of either trying to wash one big bulky item or overloading it – I am thinking this has aged the shocks prematurely

ParticipantRe: Gorenje WA7215BK – intermittently tripping power
Sorry I forgot to mention in my first post that when it tripped the power you could hear a crack and the smell of electronics so i was a bit surprised to not see any telltale signs

Aye i guess that makes sense
Cheers for all the help on this fella, my parents decided that getting 18 years out of the machine was good enough so are going to replace it instead of fixing it. Bit of a shame after all the years of reliable service but i think my mum likes the idea of a newer quieter machine

that is a bugger as its been a rock solid workhorse of a machine. Im guessing if i can get it working its worth advising my parents to start putting money aside to replace it then

If i do it then yes (im also looking at buying MOT failure cars cheaply and breaking them for parts so it will be a bit hard to hide what im doing)

I know that most of (well all) the bits in my now broken machine are cheap rubbish but i figure it owes me nowt anymore so the heater, pump, control panel, metal door front, top, racks, sprayarms are all gonna go on e-bay cheaply just to see if they sell and try to recoup a bit of money that i spent buying a half decent machine
In regards to the cabinet I would try and sell off as many panels as i can but i know the tub would not go, to get rid of the metal parts i was just going to pile them up until i had a few and then call a metal recycler to come and pick them up
Its not an idea i have given heavy thought to – its just something that came to mind earlier today when i stubbed my foot on the thing in the garage

ParticipantRe: Removing front cover of Dishwasher
Yep still feel like a wally for not spotting that cable off as i must have looked at it a good 10 or so times while cursing it for not working. With some clever placement this dishwasher should look semi intergrated when done. Will try and upsate thread when its properly in place
Guessing your a ford fan as well, i dont know another make that would take the abuse i have dished out to my 2ton 2seater mondeo speaker on wheels and keep going. Timed it right talking the panel up as my friend had a black fiesta in the spraybooth that needed spraying when i turned up

ParticipantRe: Removing front cover of Dishwasher
After much headscratching i found out the reason it was not releasing detergent was i knocked the connector for the detergent release mechanism off when putting the door back on
Still the silver panel and door sprayed in Ford Metallic black looks alright
Should look good when the new kitchen goes in

ParticipantRe: Removing front cover of Dishwasher
Well i got the metalwork of the door off and got it resprayed by my friendly car bodyshop and it is looking good BUT now the machine has an odd problem – will start a new thread

ParticipantRe: Removing front cover of Dishwasher
yes i know it is a low end pile of rubbish and it is amazing it does not fall apart every time it is looked at but as i paid next to nowt for it it will do for now (if i paid full price i would not be happy) but as i have the sound-deadening sheets laying around i think i will throw some on the metal work when i put it back together
