ParticipantRe: Rusty spots on cutlery?
Thanks K, I thought my lovely cutlery was probably terminal 🙁
I can’t believe how much rust keeps appearing on them, even after I’ve polished them off. I wonder if the 15 year guarantee will still apply? 😕 😕

ParticipantRe: Zanussi FX 1465W Leaving grey gunge on clothing.
I had this problem a while ago, I was told it was overuse of fabric softener 😳 and to run the machine a couple of times on a hot wash with a dishwasher tablet in it. (and no clothes obviously 😆 ) sorry you can’t put the dishes in either 😆

ParticipantRe: Glasses scratched
The scratching isn’t to do with the detergent though, there’s something else at work to cause it.
Thanks for explaining it for me K but I’m still confused as nothing else has changed, the glasses are over year old, been in the dishwasher 100’s of times with other detergents with no problems, they were separated so not damaged by each other. Our water is very hard but I’ve not altered the setting and was using the 3 in 1 tablets with added salt so I thought it may have been caused by too little salt but after you explained that soft water can cause the scratching then its obviously not that.
One of life’s unexplained mysteries it seems 😆 I’m just gutted because I bought 3 packs of them as they were cheap on an introductory offer 😥
Thanks again K , I just like to know these things.

Thanks K, I just thought it was odd that its only started since changing the detergent, I haven’t altered any settings and it was fine on the all in one tablets. These new powder bursts are made by Fairy so I thought they would be good but all Ive got now is a load of scratched glasses.
Can anyone tell me why you guys don’t like the all in ones please.
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DCE 5655 spray arm problems
I guess it could be 2004 in that case but that seems a bit new ?
Thats about when I thought we bought it, could the pump have seized up because I wasn’t at home using it for some time?
Because of my health I doubt this machine has seen 12 months actual use.silverpixie1uk
ParticipantRe: Zanussi DCE 5655 spray arm problems
A couple of years or so is not unheard of
Thanks Dave sorry I’m a bit late in replying,(blooming computers 👿 )
Now I’m worried, it can’t be anywhere near as long as that since we bought it, its got to be in the last 3 years, although I’m disabled and have problems with my memory its definitely no longer.
So where on earth has it been since 1994? 😯

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DCE 5655 spray arm problems
😯 😯 😳 😳 Thanks Dave. We could have had it longer then but certainly not that long, any idea approx how long they hang around on the shelf before sale?
I used to work in the motor industry and most people would die if they knew how old their ‘new’ car was 😆

Thanks Dave, I’m getting it sorted 😆 Thanks to you also Penguin45. You are all stars on here
Can anyone settle a slight disagreement please, himself says the machine is older than I think (Ive got a crap memory) is there any way you can tell approx how old it is from these numbers, pretty please.

Sorry Penguin couldn’t get back sooner, I’ve had virus problems 😥 (blooming Microsoft)
Now son is not sure he can fit the pump, so please can anyone advise how much this is likely to cost, I’m in Kent by the way. Also is there any kind of guarantee on the part and the repair?
Many, many thanks.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DCE 5655 spray arm problems
Sorry me yet again 😳
To continue this saga, it seems the bearings in the pump have seized up and I have a choice of a new pump at over £106 plus fitting or he can try to put new bearings in at £80. As I’m disabled and only on benefits I wondered if anyone can tell me which is the best option and if the price for the pump is fair, can it be got anywhere cheaper, or even secondhand. I am in Kent if any of you lovely guys can come to my rescue please.
