Those were the days of repairing the old russel hobbs K2 and K3 kettles stainless steel kettles and the old hoover constellation cleaners and the metal junior and senior cleaners.
And they still survive and out use the modern days units.
Yes but i even went to a samsung one the other day, 2.5 years old, quoted them for thermal fuse, they went and bought a new machine.technics1200

Well said alex.
Ive been to loads of under warranty and insurance customers who say “i was going to buy a new one”
Whats this business coming to? The manufacturers and the big boys are responsible for the demise of the sole trader imo.
Spares cost too much, machines too cheap coupled with your comets and your Insurance companies all too willing to exchange a customers machine and pay you the repairer bottom dollar for your diagnosis.
All because they want the repair work to go back to them (Yes, you, hotpoint)
I know of one WP that if it is BER they pay you diddly Idlly SQUAT.
The business is heading the same way as the TV repair Business.
Surely this is Illegal?

Its been a constant 10 calls plus since I cant remember. All early calls this week as hit me though as Technics1200 can confirm,(these youngsters cant take the pace either).
Most annoying part of week…customers Not in again, demanding timed/weekend/evening calls,NOT a chance..work enough to allow them not to take days off work as it is.

ParticipantRe: Staggering Really
yes i agree with you on the last paragraph.
but the government has a plan up its sleeve imo.
[conspiracy theory]
why let so many immigrants in, namely from poland, india, iraq, japa, africa? why promote handouts and interpreters? and a so-called better life?so they can get the ones who can afford to leave their country and after a number of years (remember, the so-called “Developing Countries” the only people who can afford this are people in good city jobs) gain control over these countries.
[/conspiracy theory]
