ParticipantRe: What is the most useful tool in your toolbox?
No! no! guys, thats far too cruel and fiddly.
Just pre-charge a small (say 8mf) capacitor with your megger!
Neat, simple, easy to carry and also very effective on moggies!
Money back guaranteed method…trust me!
wire up 2 meggers in series and zap the mutt…
at college we were made to stand in a circle holding hands whilst we all got zapped with the old wind-up meggers

ParticipantRe: I got a contract!
ok ali
basically he gives us about 6 calls a day. i go and charge the customer £30 plus the part plus my earining (about 20-35 quid). at the end of the working week i will pay him for all those calls that i have been given. it works out that he has more than me though. i keep the rest and we start over

ParticipantRe: I got a contract!
hi again guys…
firstly…
yes i had a late one but the time my side says 2.44 pm or something…!
kwatt i have to agree here, it will be very burdensome once i take on extra engineers, we are starting a massive yellow pages ad campaign soon, with a free phone number for “local engineer”. i have noticed that if i dont complete 1st time round it knackers up the cash flow a bit. but i dont get charged on recalls or on rebooks. but i get charged for some out calls.they are giving me 3 calls per week contingency if they come to nothing. over and above that then i get charged 30 per call.
i must say, they have regular work coming in but it greives me when im bringing in £350 per day and 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of it is showing on my spreadsheet as his!
alex, i wont say who it is on the forum just in case he drops by here!

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
heres my most annoying:
1) worse thing is that its sod’s law that the most minging houses have the pump blockages.
2)say the dog wont bite and it does
3)ring you at 11.55am and ask where you are and appointment is at 12pm
4)cancel a call on you if youre on the way there and had to travel 20 miles to get there
5)make bad cups of tea
6)make a cup of tea infront of you and not offer you one
7)cry cos you cant get the part
8)offer you a cup of tea and the house is infested (at this point tea ends up poured inside of drum)
9) try and talk over you like your thick, just because i appear to look young
10) ask me “how long have you been doing this for” (im 23, look younger) not knowing i spent 2 years in north wales doing my city and guilds ect ect prior to working. so at that point i answer “1 week love, last week i was a window cleaner”🙄
