Hi Silverbroom,
Monitoring has been one of the biggest dilemma’s we have faced whilst dealing with the OFT. But, for what we get after approval, if they want monitoring, we have to monitor!
The exact procedures will be posted sometime soon, we’re still finalising exact details, but so far, along with customer feedback forms, Amica work & ISE work, it’s pretty much covered.
The main thing is, for now, that all WTA members read / print the COP and start to work to these expected standards as a member, because to re-itterate… The OFT APPROVED Badge, is a massive achievement, and one that IS going to benefit ALL WTA members 🙂

I had an engineer from a very well known Manufacturer call in about a year ago, and offered me spares for cash!
Motors, modules / eeproms 8) / pumps etc… Good range of van stock, the picking was mine!
As it happens, I do very little work on this Manufacturers appliances, so his number has been of no use to me, but… I did call him for ‘Tech Info’ once… Very helpful guy 🙂
I dare say it goes on all over the Country!
Back to Internet sales though, I have to admit, I’ve never looked at eBay etc for spares, but I might take a peek in the near future, just to see!

I’d just get the head chief there? Trying to get people to say who’s interested will get you a list of about 2 people at this stage, BUT, with a room full of people, he can speak to whoever and then go back and pass details on to Area Managers etc if ya get me?

I had a member of RC Management phone me this afternoon, he’s coming down tomorrow! Said can I spare him a ‘Few’ Hours, and also asked if I’d be alone at work! Sounds foooooooking odd to me!
When I asked why, he said “To go through my jobs” and “See if there was anything he could do for me”.
^ Tis NOT the usual meeting time, NOR explaination, and I know this person quite well, well enough to know he was in the room with other people as he was quite blunt and was a bit of an odd conversation, as in, he couldn’t say much!!
Me thinks this is prime time to have a ‘Discreet’ pop, so is there anything anyone wants asking as I KNOW we will have a ‘Deep’ conversation!

If prices of appliances keep dropping to suit us consumers, then I can definately see this in certain parts of the Rhondda Valley (Wales) soon 😆

This is ‘partly’ why ‘Free Estimates’ or a ‘Tenner’ for looking at it should vanish from our trade totally (IMO)!!!
Can you imagine the amount of people that get a free estimate, or pay a tenner to get the machine looked at, get told what the problem is, say to Mr Engineer, “Thanks, but Ill think about it”… Mr Engineer leaves, customer logs on to eBay / Amazon and gets the part for peanuts, either fits themselves or calls someone else to say “Hey, how much to change a motor on my washer”!!
I get quite a lot of ‘Ill think about it’ people ring me after the engineer has been to ask what was the part number etc… But as they’ve paid me £35 + VAT for the Diagnostic, they’re welcome to it.
Also, by offering a decent guarantee on parts that were supplied & fitted by us, will quite often win the customer back from Amazon etc, especially when looking at a ‘More expensive’ part…

I’d just love to be the one to cause the storm! I hear the above posts and respect them AND listen to you guys… But can I ask one thing?
When we HAVE the COP, can I please be the little irritating sh1t that gets into suits pants please? I’d have much love towards causing these people in ties problems, whether be small problems, or biggies!
