Can I just correct the above! Ken, you put the stoppers on their questions on most occastions! 😉
But seriously, the COP is en route! For the benefit of those that wasn’t there, the COP Senior staff went from the opinion of referring us to Trustmark to ‘Give us the code’ in about an hour!
I don’t have ‘Minutes’ (Sorry Tracey), but bottom line is, we have an awesome COP, the OFT people that need to, like us! We all left there with a smile (Untill we hit London traffic)!
Stage 1 is under way, stage 2 will probably be ‘Fast tracked’ due to Kens input about John and monitoring so I seriously think, within 18-24 Months, our members can happily advertise that we, the WTA are OFT appoved!
As a result of this meeting today though, a WTA Council meeting is needed pretty soon, like the next few weeks IMO, as the ball is rolling now, so we need to make sure we have everyone briefed and commited ASAP…

I’m sussing rooms out at the mo, what’s the chance of getting a definate drive or fly down by say close of play Wednesday? If you’re driving, can get one a close to the OFT to avoid travelling into Central London early Friday, but if fly, I’ll get one close to Gatwick… Gatwick to the OFT is 30miles / 1hr drive according to AA website, so don’t really want to book Gatwick if you’re driving…

WTA can pay for room? I’m quite happy buying my own food and refreshments!
Also, what about fuel? This is WTA Business after all, so can we claim expences from the association? Only about £60 round trip for me, but just curious?
Another ‘also’… Can we think about ‘Shirt n Ties’…? I think that might make us fit in more at the OFT as opposed to jeans n T-Shirt?

I’ll plan on getting to ‘set hotel’ about 5 / 6 but 7PM latest. I can grab you from Airport again Ken if you want, and get you back there Saturday, although I’ll avoid bus lanes this time 🙂
If you look at flights, and want grabbing, let me know… 🙂

OK… FRIDAY 23rd April. That is the date Charles has a team available.
I know you two might have plans etc but it would be good if we could shuffle if that’s the case… Getting a confirmed appt date is an achievment alone!

Had a voicemail from Charles yesterday confirming Friday. I called him and explained that as it wasn’t confirmed, we’ve had to assume it were off and we’ve filled our day with work.
He’s getting back to me today / tomorrow with a new date, and was very apologetic for not getting back to me earlier!

No reply again today, Monday 22/03! I’d plan work for Friday guys as I aint prepared to hold off anymore… I’ll re-arrange with him WHEN / IF he returns my calls!

Hi Steve, Great work on what you’re doing but IMO, I would focus on spares discount and that’s it. This as well as other stuff that has been mentioned could be seen as were are an Anti-CDSL Association. Not something I want a part of.
Personally, IMO we’re too young and don’t have anywhere NEAR the amount of ‘clowt’ to even start talking about taking work from here, there & everywhere.
If one day, say in a few years, we HAVE the OFT stamped approval, we HAVE nationwide service cover and someone approaches us… Fine, it could be worth thinking about, because there is more to it that use our members! Stock control, Office Admin staff to manage the engineers… It’s a different world! IMO, if we go looking for it or make a point to say it’s on our agenda… We’ll make more enemies than have members!
I feel slightly ‘uncomfortable’ at the moment talking like this to another ‘Suit’ within the trade. Can we stick to the agenda… Spares discount…?
I don’t know Phil, but I don’t like that ‘The man is on a mission’! The WTA must be carefull not to be ‘lulled’ into ending up a tool to hit someone with by someone who has a different immidiate agenda to us.
