ParticipantRe: Which washer ??
We have a Bosch Classixx 12oo Express WAE24162.
Had it two years, no problems at all.You should consider the ISE – we did but in the end panic set in and the local department store had the Bosch in stock and could deliver the same day.
However, we are moving house soon and leaving the Bosch behind so a great opportunity to buy the ISE10 which really impresses me.

It’s the inconvenience and time off work that really costs, plus of course the environmental impact when it’s scrapped at 12 months.
I like quality and am prepared to pay for it .Peace of mind etc. I would soooooo love an ISE10 but will have to wait for the Bosch to pack up first. Seems to defeat the point getting rid of it until it breaks.I wish I had known about this site years ago.

Yes I saw those machines in the lastest Argos catalogue and wondered how can they do a machine for so little? I think they were £160 so by the time Argos have taken their cut I expect they buy them in for about £120? Maybe less?
I have no idea how a manufacturer can make a machine for so little.

ParticipantRe: ISE 5 – where’s it gone
ah that’s good news. The AW23 looks good, at only 505mm deep it will be perfect.
I assume the motor is brushless?Xileno
ParticipantRe: Around 200 pound machine
I wouldn’t get involved – it’s not your problem. You are presumably renting a furnished property where a portion of your rent is on account of there being a washing machine. Get him to do the donkey work buying a new one and if he insists on paying £200 for a machine that is unlikely to see out its warranty without a problem, then that’s his problem.

ParticipantRe: Henry
Another vote for the Henry here. We’ve got three in our extended household. They are just great. Immensely powerful and durable. Cheap to buy as well – about £90 on line. Also made in UK – if that sort of thing is important to you.

ParticipantRe: ISE5 – exact dimensions (depth)
Thanks. It should just go in. It will be close though as when the machine is about two-thirds of the way through the door, it has to be angled slightly to the left to avoid the toilet. If it’s approx 57cms then that will give me about 1.5cms either side to angle it through. 😀

Thanks, very useful.
I shall have a look at the Bosch but am quite tempted by the ISE5.October 5, 2007 at 7:18 am in reply to: Zanussi Jetsystem 900 RSi FJ964 – possibly timer broken? #223630Xileno
ParticipantRe: Zanussi Jetsystem 900 RSi FJ964 – possibly timer broken?
Oh dear. Man came out to look at it yesterday, definitely the timer gone he says. £92 + £30 fitting 🙁
Not sure whether it’s worth it on a 12 year old machine. Maybe another one hits the landfill 🙁
Should I repair it or buy another? Thinking of the ISE 5 😀
Problem is if I repair it this year, then next year there maybe something else. Machine is probably near its end if life. !2 years isn’t bad.
Any ideas where I could get a cheap timer?
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Jetsystem 900 RSi FJ964 – possibly timer broken?
Thanks for the reply. The problem I have is the fault is intermittent, the last two washes it has worked perfectly. I will certainly consider repairing it, I hate to throw old things away particularly if they’re better quality than the new ones.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure the heater and motor are OK, you can feel the water temperature by touching the glass door and the motor is as silent as when new.
I could definitely hear a clicking sound coming from the round dial on the front which leads me to think it’s this which is the problem. However I will see if I can access the water level sensor and give it a clean.
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Washing machine for cold climate
Hello again
It’s for a holiday home in the chilly mountain regions of central France. It can get to below zero in the house during winter.
I thought a twin tub may be easier to drain but I certainly don’t want any Chinese rubbish – or any rubbish whoever makes it. I like quality that lasts.
My concern is that the pipes may still have water in them even though the machine appears to be drained.
Thanks again, I shall pack a pair of Marigolds and just wash by hand 😀

Thanks for the replies. I suspect I will stick with hand washing :bang:
What a great forum this is, well done – keep the good work up.
It’s always annoyed me to throw appliances away just because something simple can’t be fixed easily.Xileno
