Really? I’ve had the hob top off before. No need to touch the gas, not on this cooker anyway. Just a few screws and it lifts off. And there is the spark generator, which is only spade connectors. The gas supply isn’t involved.

I’ve seen the spark generator. Plastic box with a bunch of spade connectors, under the hob? Anyone know where’s a good place to get a replacement and are they model-specific?

Where’s the fault though? In the electrode? The igniter lead or the actual spark generator which supplies all the igniters and sits under the hob?

Re: Bosch SGS45E02 ‘not washing or completing cycle’

OK I’ve investigated further. By running it with the door interlock overridden, I see that the problem is that it isn’t filling. The main pump tries to circulate the nonexistent water and there’s simply a sucking sound and a very weak dribble of water.
I filled it with a bowl of water and it ran fine. Went through the cycle and drained OK.
Hope someone can help here. The cold supply is ok btw.
    Full model number is SGS45E02GB/45

Ah well. I’ll start by investigating the drain pump, see if it’s jammed due to an object getting past the loose filter. The fact that water’s coming through the spray arms suggests that’s not it though, doesn’t it?

Then I’ll see if I can find this capacitor that might have gone, near the main pump motor. Replace that and see if it does owt. According to your self-help pages, that’s the most likely cause of weak washing.

High voltage but very low current, one presumes 😉

Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 rattling drum

    It’s OK. I found it!

By sticking my head inside the drum and shining a torch through the holes I could see something. A length of bent wire and a period of fishing through the gap between the seal and the inner drum and I managed to get the object to where I could see it in the narrow gap at the front. Hooked it out. No idea what it is but part of a washing machine it definitely is not! Drum turns smoothly now. Woohoo!

Hi Jim. Did as you said. Got about 2 pints of water out of it, and now it works fine. Cheers!

It was #1 that was flashing. Maybe the leak last night got into the base. I’ll check what you say tonight. Cheers.

PS we use 4 in 1 tabs but no rinse aid.

Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!

I guessed at that and cleared out the filter (had to take the pump off). Blocked with coins and crap. Put the machine on and it started working but a few minutes into a cycle, it’s now stopped again and is showing 11 flashes. Groan!

Wonder if that’s my fault. To take the pump off I leaned the machine back against the unit but it slipped on the floor and landed flat on its back. Not over-hard, but not gently either!

Been reading this thread with intwerest but I haven’t seen a reference to F5 (5 flashes of the LED). What is error code 5 and can I fix it? 😕
