ParticipantRe: Rangemaster oven problem, need advice please
Serial number tag says “Professional +FX Dual Fuel Ser No 9118 116005”
The owner’s manual also says Falcon U110010-03
I don’t know that there are any special modifications for the New Zealand region outside of it being sold as a Falcon (all the brands, including AGA, are sold under that name here).
Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. Is the safety stat the same as the external thermometer? And so what do you think is the correct fix?

ParticipantRe: Wine Fridge next to range cooker
Thanks to everyone for those answers. The wine fridge stays cool on the side, and it has a digital thermostat. If the side begins to get warm or the temperature begins to rise (or the white wine isn’t cold enough 😉 I will move it. And I have a gap of exactly 15 mm so I should be good!

Thanks for your reply, Dave. It’s good to know that both are reliable units and certainly better than the Smeg. I could pretty much see that for myself just from the way all of the them are built.
So I purchased the Rangemaster Professional+FX just yesterday! The Falcon and Rangemaster ovens are the same and not having a window on the door was a big concern. Also I prefer the gas hob layout on the Rangemaster, so I couldn’t see paying double for an extra beefy hob that I don’t need on the Falcon.
So decision made and now I am just waiting for installation!

ParticipantRe: Falcon, Smeg, Ilve? Help!
thanks for that info. it’s great to get some feedback from down under! I have heard that about the Ilve, that they break down and that parts are difficult and expensive too. But the salespeople here sure do sell them hard! (which always makes me suspicious)

Thanks for that link, the information there is just what I am after. And I particularly appreciated Kwatt’s comments about Americans 😆
the good news is that now I know I have to get a falcon. and the bad news is – yup – I have to get a Falcon!!zsuzsanna22
ParticipantRe: Falcon, Smeg, Ilve? Help!
Even though it’s a different model in the UK, can I get some feedback on Smeg quality please? The models I am considering are mid line and top of the line here. Ilve, btw, is Italian. And I hear a lot about “hand made” as a big selling feature, both on the Ilve and the top end Smeg. I don’t find that impressive necessarily – any opinion on that? (sad to say but machines do a better job at building machines than humans)
Thanks,

I almost added “and I’m not that young” to my post! so it doesn’t have all that long that it has to last! Besides, with something as beefy as a Falcon, shouldn’t it last a lifetime even for a younger person? 😉

This is great, I have had so much trouble finding user input and since we have pretty much the same models as in Australian at least now I can get some really accurate feedback!
So can we please add Ariston to the mix? I have seen some great looking Ariston ranges, at amazing prices, and now that I see they are being used on Masterchef, I wonder, are they any good?
Thanks! Susan

Thanks Don! that’s brilliant, I didn’t know you had an Australasian forum! A much better place for me to get my info!
