Whirlpool reckons that there are still around 65,000 dangerous dryers still out there in the wild and, how anyone can’t be aware of this now escapes us with the sheer amount of coverage it’s had in the past few years but, apparently, some people still don’t know about it.

We’re piecing this together a little here as we caught a report from The Mirror that speculates that residents of the Grenfell Tower that tragically went on fire may have a claim against Hotpoint if the fridge freezer is proven to be the cause.

The disaster that befell the Grenfell Tower in London was a shocking tragedy that most of us will probably, perhaps thankfully, never be able to comprehend but reports have emerged that the starting point of the fire was a Hotpoint fridge freezer.

The inquest into the death of two men due to a defective tumble dryer resulting in a fire in October 2014 is to begin today.

Which? are calling for a judicial review to be launched into the handling of the Hotpoint tumble dryer safety program by Peterborough Trading Standards.

We picked up on a local report this morning in the Lichfield Mercury about men posing as Hotpoint engineers to try to gain access to people’s homes in the area which is a concern.

The Western Gazette reports that Indesit have opened an investigation after a fire which destroyed a Yeovil home started in one of its tumble dryers.

Whirlpool appears to be coming under increasing pressure over carrying out the tumble dryer recall to try to prevent certain models produced between April 2004 and October 2015 under the Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda brands.

According to the Telegraph and if the report is accurate then it may transpire that Indesit knew about the potential fire risk on the recently recalled tumble dryers and if this is the case, it looks very bad for Indesit.

For some weeks now we have been hearing rumours about a huge potential recall on Hotpoint tumble dryers but information has been very sketchy.
