It’s a screwdriver job basically 🙂
Don’t forget to power off when checking :zap:

Please don’t take this the wrong way but it is very evident that you have no idea of how to go about undertaking the repair yourself.
We can’t for legal and safety reasons tell you how to repair your cooker, only give general guidelines 😉
Please save yourself the effort and grief and ask an engineer to do it for you, the repairs@ link below should provide someone 😀

of course your absolutely right that i have never undertaken an oven repair before, and i can appreciate your position of not wishing to give detailed instruction.
however, i – just like you am blessed with a brain and the capacity to learn. if there was detailed instruction on how these appliances worked out in the public domain, then people like myself – with a degree of technical ability could perform repairs without being at the mercy of the professional and his/her call-out charge.
if the oven had had some unfathomable problem, i would have most likely called out an engineer straightaway – but you can appreciate that after diagnosing that the fault is a ‘screwdriver job’ im reluctant to pay the extra £65+ cost to have someone come out basically just because they ‘know’ which screws to turn.
thanks all the same for your help thus far .. and i may (hopefully) be back to order that part!

i had the engineer out. cost £97.00 – £65 callout / 18£ for the part + vat
fortunately i stood there and watched him do it – and it was exactly the part specified in this and the other threads on this subject.
i see now (and it may be helpful for other people who read this thread) that access to the part is from the top of the oven – just pull it out of its housing and theres a plate with access. Of course ensure the mains power is off first.
he also mentioned that it was a common problem with this oven model.

Hi Guys,
I have a AEG B1180-1 with the exact same problem. Have verified its the thermal cutout as the fan operates correctly when the part is bridged.
I believe its a 95 degree thermal fuse?The PNC number for the oven is 944 181 727
Would you be kind enough to let me know the part number?
One of those links you provided earlier would be fantastic!BTW you guys should be owed several pints by a fair number of people!

Hi
I have exactly the same problem but with an AEG Competence B2190-1 model. When I follow your link to the part you specify, the blurb at the top (pasted below) does not include the B2190-1 model of the oven. Is it the correct part and the blurb is wrong or is there a different part I should be ordering?
