KeymasterA while ago someone asked about a component for an AEG oven.
It was called by yourselves ‘the cooling fan control thermostat’.
Please can you tell me where I can get one from.
My oven is a AEG B2190-1 Compenence. The part has two blue and two white wires white coming out of it and is covered in blue plastic shaped like a bell.
The fault occurs after the oven has been on for 10-20 minutes and the oven door is opened, the rising heat must turn somthing off as the interior lights, fans and oven heat go off! the clock is still on as is the indicator to say that the lights are on. After a period where everthing cools down it all works o.k. The part looks to have a burnt bit on it.
the oven is not on auto.Thankyou 😥

Can you supply the PNC (Product Code) please from the rating plate around the door. There’s a couple of versions of this model.

KeymasterRe: AEG Oven turning itself off
Hi,
I have an AEG built in oven – Competence B4100-1-M PNC 944 181 739 TYP 91AC001GC.
The fault symptom is not exactly the same as pt oven man’s – the cooling fan in my oven
is not working at all at the moment either – but I still get the oven switching itself off after
about 15-20 minutes. However, the faulty component in my case may be exactly the same,
as the blue plastic bell on the component connected to the fan also looks like it has overheated.
I have checked the cooling fan motor – not open circuit so looks OK.
Could you tell me if the same cooling fan control thermostat is likely to be the culprit in my case as well?
Many thanks for your help.August 15, 2005 at 10:10 pm #131613Dave_Conway

Almost certainly OM2 😉
It seems quite a common occurence on these, if the cooling fan doesn’t run the overheat sensor will shut the oven down until cooled for safety, the fault lies within the cooling fan control thermostat which is the part refered to above.

Hi My AEG Competence Oven Model B4100-1-A shuts off after 25 to 40 minutes andnothing works at all. It is just over a year old and so out of the Warranty. I guess that I will need to purchase the part number you have quoted for the Fan Thermostat. Since I have not had to do any repairs to this one yet, any advice about any pitfalls in the removal, repair and replacement?
Thanks a bundle,

Dave
You kindly advised that I most likely had the same problem as others on this thread with my AEG Competence B1180-1 oven. The PNC code is: 944 181 726. Can you confirm that the part number required will be 8996619267611 as advised to the others (albeit different models). Can you also advise if this requires an engineer or is it something I could do myself?
As an aside someone mentioned to me the other day that 1 or 2 year warranties is illegal and in fact manuafactuers of such appliances are leaglly obliged to provide a 3 year warranty as standard. is this correct or just wishful thinking?
Thanks
Ronnie

You oven does have this part fitted so it is the likely cause 🙂
turnerrf wrote:Can you also advise if this requires an engineer or is it something I could do myself?
Only you can answer that one really 😉
If you’re unsure, check the repairs@ link below for an engineer.

Wishful thinking IMO 😀

I have an AEG Competence B4100-1-A PNC 944-181-681
It is exhibiting exactly the same problem as outlined by people here .. Oven appears to function correctly, but after 15 minutes or so cooking, it clicks off, and stops working until everything has cooled down. The clock remains visible during this time.
If at all possible can anyone confirm ….
1) how i tell if the cooling fan is not running.
2) if the 8996619267611 Thermal cut-out kit is applicable to my model number
3) if there is some tech sheet on the web which would instruct me how to perform this repair.
Many many thanks in advance for any advice
regards
db

You will feel a draught between the control panel and the top of the door normally.
barnseyboy wrote:2) if the 8996619267611 Thermal cut-out kit is applicable to my model number
Yes, it is 🙂
barnseyboy wrote:3) if there is some tech sheet on the web which would instruct me how to perform this repair.
Very unlikely I’m afraid but a forum search for the part number 899….etc on here should help 😉
