Anway everything turned out ok in the end and now it’s boxing day – i’ve sobered up and found this thread which seems to be full of the same issues as i’ve got with my Aeg competence – pn 944-181-727 (b1180-1-m) it goes off after about twenty minutes using either the grill or the oven it just cuts out (fan stops / internal light goes out) – please can you recommend the part I need to order to fix this problem (thermal cut out sensor ?) – i’m an electronic engineer so replacing a sensor assembly doesn’t worry me as long as access is relatively simple…
look above for the replies to mine
i have the same pnc to your one
Same problem
fitted new part
just make sure the 2 white wires are around the right way. fitted wtrong in the 1st place and it cut out after 30 minutes
changed the white wires around and it was still on 80 minutes after turning onJanuary 5, 2008 at 1:34 pm #131653Richythesparky

I had the same problem with my AEG competence B4100-1, which seems to be a common occurance with these ovens due to the amount of similar posts I have seen here on this forum.
First of all I would like to say thank you to http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk because I ordered the replacement part (cooling fan control part no: 8996619267611) yesterday and received it this morning, now that it what I call fantastic service.
In order to carry out the repairs oneself, I recommend turning off the power first at your fuse box, which should have it’s own circuit. If you are unsure of taking on a task such as this, get a professional engineer to do it for you. Once you get the oven out of the kitchen unit, held by two 1″ phillips screws and the top lid off in two parts held by 4 x 1/4″ phillips screws, replace the cooling fan control sensor by taking off the two blue wires and two white wires one at a time and replacing them one at a time. It may be useful to have some small cable ties handy, to keep the internal wiring tidy, because you will have to cut the old two away anyway. Once the part is in, reassemble the oven to the reverse to what I have just written and job done. You will save yourself £120.00 call out charge that’s if you live in central London.
Good luck. 😀 Tools required for this job are, side cutting pliers to cut cable ties, one standard phillips screw driver, 2-3 small cable ties.February 12, 2008 at 9:13 pm #131654yellowgrid

My oven is doing the same thing. After 20 mins or so the fan and internal lights turn off and it seems to cool down. After a period of cooling the oven then turns on again, lights come on, heat and fan returns.
From reading above I suspect I have the same problem.
My oven details are:
The B2100-4-M
PNC 944185044
Type 91AHB01GACa someone tell me what part I need and tell me whether it is straight forward to fit. I am not an oven engineer but reckon I could fit a part if told how. Many thanks in advance

ParticipantRichythesparky, thanks for the tips, you inspired me to do the same repair on my AEG Competence B1180-1-M.
It really was a very simple job, just needed a pair of small pliers to help pull out the old connectors and push the new ones on.

Yes we have the same problem with a B4101-4-M, (PNC 944185051) oven and it drives my wife up the wall. Have ordered the part but am wondering if as the fault seem to be so common could this be a design fault or would getting additonal cooling be a possible answer?

Hi, I have an AEG oven B3101-4M (PN 944185047) but my thermal cut out has only three cables, 2 blue and 1 white. The spare part (8996619267611) on the UKWhitegoods photo seems to have 4 cables. I have pull out the actual piece from the plastic casing and it reads 0 09 70C 9698.
Is this the same part?Thank you

Yours doesn’t work because one of the white wires has broken away – look again (with the power off). Part listed is correct for your machine.

Thank you very much comrade! I actually had another look last night after reading all the blogs and found the missing cable. I will order the part asap.
You mentioned that the replacement part is “improved” – allegedly. Has anybody check the temperature rating in the new part to see whether is higher, e.g. better thermo resistor?

Can’t really answer that – I can say that I haven’t had to go back to one which I’ve replaced yet.

My problem with my AEG B4100-1 single oven is that the fan oven does not heat, whereas the setting for top and bottom heat with internal fan does. I checked out cooling fan control part no: 8996619267611 and it was clearly burned out (discoloured casing). Ordered the part from you (fantastic service, by the way) and fitted it this morning – still only unheated air on the fan oven setting. Any ideas?
