Hi!
I have tested the Pressure switch according to the instructions in the link in my previous post.
The pressure switch has 4 connections 3 are labeled 1, 2, 3
so these are the ones tested as per instructions:2 1 3
– – –No Pressure:
1 & 2 – Continuity
1 & 3 – Infinity
2 & 3 – InfinityPressure:
1 & 2 – Infinity
1 & 3 – Continuity
2 & 3 – InfinitySo this seems ok.
As far as I can make out the tube is ok.
It is almost impossible to get to, to detach from the bottom of the drum
with out having no bones or turning the machine on its side (is that an ok thing to do??)
Blew down and seems ok, and Water started coming up the tube when I sucked. When I tried the machine again it starts to try and wash when the pressure switch clicks, but then almost immediately stops.
Where do I go from here?
Can I adjust the pressure switch?
I noticed there are adjustments on it.Or is it likely to be another problem?
Cheers

GuinnessMan,
Full marks to you for your persistence on this issue over the Pressure switch albeit I believe you are barking up the wrong tree here 😯
Unfortunately I suspect the problem is a little more complex, expensive to sort and more likely associated to being a motor problem 😕
The main Control Module is very sensitive to excess current being drawn by the motor and goes into ‘default’ and ends up with the fault symptoms you describe. It then also gives false error code (flashing light sequence) readings and confusion reigns supreme 😯
You need an expert to test the motor (500volt insulation test) to confirm my suspicions of course but nevertheless it has to be done. As messing around with the Pressure Switch will only add to further confusion and expense.

Machine: Ariston Marherita 2000 AWD12 Advantage
I’ve had a look through the thread above and think we might have a possible probelm with the pressure switch (though the chap that came out to have a look said not – he took it away and tested it but not sure what he did)
When selecting a program the cycle will start and the machine will start to fill, the cycle begins but the water continues to come in to the machine and when full is filled and drained continuously throughout the cycle.
The cycle continues through to completion but throughout takes on water, even through the rince and spin cycle (we have to shut off the water feed so clothes don’t come out wringing wet).
The machine will drain the water to do the rince but continues to refill at the same time. When it gets to the end of the cycle it the red light flashes continuously but water keeps coming in. If you turn the machine off it stops straight away.
Any ideas??

Computer board fault, valve not being switched off is a fault in the transistor array.
If you could post up the full model number we will be able to advise the cost of a replacement board.
Power off if investigating further……….

many thanks!
do you know if there is a cause for this that we could do something to avoid occurring in future (if we get a replacement board rather than machine) or if it’s just “one of those things”
Numbers from the barcode inside the door…
s/n 312093692 *80260960030
is this the right info?
Could you advise on lead times for the replacement.
Thanks again

ParticipantI Have A Margherita 2000 AWD12 Advantage about 4 years old ,never had any problems ,until now !!
Light on start button flashes 13 times and program knob keeps spinning.
Have read all posts relating to model ,tried turning on and off in different sequences, taken filter, tubes and motor off and checked ,no change (apart from 2p found in filter) 🙄
Any help you can give would be great because ariston quoted £90 call-out and i would prefer to fix it for less . 😉I have a manual but i doesn’t help

It relates to a dryer heating or overheating problem?
Either the condenser duct is blocked with fluff or the Dryer Thermistor is open circuit. The former the more likely 😉
Now I know you want a avoid the £90 call-out Ariston charge, could I therefore venture to suggest you try a local engineer who will be much cheaper (see link below) as it is NOT a DIY fix in any event 🙂

Thanks for such a quick reply martin ,but there doesn’t seem to be anyone in my area . 😥
As i have already had my head under the machine ,where is this condenser duct you mentioned ? as i will have another look . 😉

Kipster:
It appears that there are 2 different computers fitted to this one 👿 . One of them runs out at about £85 plus the VAT and P+P, the other one is dearer still. Neither has the EEPROM fitted, so it must be transferred across from the old board. Dave the Spare should be able to identify it properly for you later on. Delivery is usually 5-7 days.Jim c:
Other end mate :D. Heater duct runs across the top of the tank, the condenser duct comes up the back of the tank and mounts under the former.Power off if investigating further.

ParticipantHave stripped heater duct and condenser duct (full of fluff as you said ). 😯
Heater coil looks burnt out and what i asume is the thermister switch broke into several pieces !! 😕
Can i get these parts seperate or is it one big lump ?
If you could give me the part numbers etc i would be very grateful because the wife is giving me grief . 😉

ParticipantThe part that broke was round with 2 spade connectors, 😕 is that the thermister or fuse (it had 2 springs in it !!) 🙄
How much is carriage and how long will it take ? 😕
Also i forgot to note the wiring properly does it matter which way the blue wires go on the heating coil ❗ One wire splits and i can’t remember if it goes to one end or the other 😕
If it needs both parts then thats ok
thanks jim

ParticipantRe: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!
The round part is the thermistor, carriage £4.95 and 3-5 working days delivery.
The wiring I can’t help with I’m afraid (this information won’t be available from Indesit) so you may need an engineer.
Dave.
