At some point it occured to me that this must be a wind up? 😕
But taking a more rational approach to your problem, can I suggest your boss write to UK Whitegoods Ltd whereupon I’m sure Ken can give him permission to use the book officially and in writing? That should put his mind at rest I’m sure. 😉

Doesn’t your boss want you to diagnose and hopefully repair on the first visit 😕 ATEOTD if it helps you in the repair it can only be good for you and your boss surely ie – first time fix more likely, better for you and more profitable for him 😀

Huh? That’s insanity.
So, you get poorer results and may well not get a first fix because your boss is scared that some manufacturer might find out and when they did, even care? So you lose, he loses and his customers lose all because of this totally unfounded fear.
For a start I’d love to know how anyone would find out, unless your boss has got conspiracy spy-cams installed in your toolbox?
Sorry but that’s just plain daft and the reason given just utter silliness that totally beggers belief to be perfectly blunt.
Don’t you think that if anyone had a beef with the guide they’d have had a pop at me long, long, long before they looked at a field engineer that happens to use it?

If it’s not a wind up – it should be. I’ve not heard owt so ridiculous in ages. Copyright issues are between the owner and the publisher. No one’s ever been, or ever going to be in trouble for reading something. OK maybe in China but not the UK.

Indeed, but at least I had the decency to rewrite it all and not just blithely copy what was already there. 😉

No one could ever accuse you of not putting in the work K. Just saw an obvious joke and couldn’t resist. 🙂

Yeah, I got it. 😉
Seriously though, I actually had to translate a lot of it! Some of it just didn’t even make sense in the original info.
And then they wonder why engineers can’t fix stuff. 😉

I have just received a copy of the fault code guide and I must congratulate you on a very usefull guide, allthough I am now retired through ill heath and for those that know me I am on one of the new cancer superdrugs and so far a scan has showed that my tumors are shrinking great news for me, I still do the odd job for friends and family
and still keep an eye on the goings on at UKW so I orderd a copy of the fault code guide and I must say what a gret job you have done, it must have taken a lot of work to edit all that info into the guide.
I hope everyone realises what a great organisation we now have in UKW,
Thanks to all who help run it ,keep up the good work.

May I ask about the fault code regarding the Bosch WFF2000 range on page 7 please?
It refers to SPIN, RINSE and WASH LED’s? 😕
Well the thing is that the WFF2000GB range (GB/01 GB/11 GB/12 & GB/14) have no less than 6 LED’s above each push button (Left to right = On/off, Door,Prewash,Quickwash, Higher Water Level & Intensive). It doesn’t have SPIN, RINSE & WASH LED’s 😕
On the WFF2000GB/12 I went to today the ‘PREWASH’ LED was flashing?
That’s not in the book? 🙁
