KeymasterAre we all still having problems with MFI because I don’t like what I’m seeing. Increased rejections along with slower payments. π

Funny that, I noticed they have been quicker of late. I was getting the payment notifications, and then it took 3-4 weeks to hit the bank account. Now it takes 10 days, but I would not be surprised if they have increased the gap between the submission of the sheet over the notification date.
I’m concerned now that we have no contact details. Bernie Seaman and Tony Brown have both gone, and if I had an issue they would sort it for me. Now disputes are between myself & Paul Brooks, and no arbitration in place.
I have a feeling all the work will evaporate one day?

No payment issues at the mo. Only the usual slow paying AIG.
Think they got fed up with me arguing all the rejections, dont seem to have had any lately.
Was told our local engineer off sick and to expect a lot more calls……not yet materialised though and TBH how would they expect me to cope with a massive amount all of a sudden which will evaporate once the guys runny nose has dried up.November 14, 2007 at 12:02 am #105693kwatt

Local engineer here is just a muppet. We get constant feedback that customer’s refuse to have him back in their home. π
I dunno it’s a bit odd but then that didn’t stop me from using an alternative way of voicing my concern over payments via another route. Which interestingly led onto TB’s replacement who either started Monday gone or next Monday.
I’ll keep an eye on it for now but they seem to have just been a bit more arsey recently.

AIG worldwide in financial probs according to Times on Saturday…. never paid me without a chase and often round down vat and pay a penny less than the invoice states…..must use the same calculator as connect do for their invoices.
Got a news letter from MFI today with all the new contact numbers for tech etc and lists of all the new appliances….
All appliances which have gone on sale from the beginning of 2008 have had a new method of classification.
These are:
ACA β Good
ABA β Better
AAA β Best
To view pictures of all the appliances below, collect the winter 2008 appliances@mfi brochure from your nearest MFI store. Howdens Joinery have some new appliances due out later this year.March 3, 2008 at 10:16 pm #105696johnmac11

We get MFI jobs through in two different ways. MFI whirlpool made come through the Whirlpool system and still come thick and fast.
All the rest of the MFI jobs we get direct and I noticed last week that we received 31 MFI jobs in January and only 3 in February. I called Jim Frew to ask him if we were out of favour and got an outright denial with an assurance he would do some checking and call me back, no phone call to date. Then we got a funny one today, a job came through for an APM8512 by email. Within an hour we got a cancelation for the same job and I quote the wording in the instructions box
| PLS CANCEL FSR AS U DONT SSERVICE THIS APPL THANKJS S
We have probably fixed three or four hundred of this model so I think they have stopped sending me work and I will be on the phone to MFI a.m. tomorrow.
On the bright side I got two cheques from AIG today and Kevin said we don’t seem to have any problem gettting paid from them.

I’m up to date with AIG as well, but am cautious regards MFI.
Problem is we have lost most of our contacts and allies within the group.

Correct, theyβve all abandoned ship it seems.
They are pi$$ing me about as they are John. We are only getting out of volume area calls, gas appliances, problem calls and $ihtty Haier dishwashers! So, they have been told (as Sean knows) on no uncertain terms to rectify it PDQ and until the AIG account is brought into line they shall remain firmly on stop.
If payment is not forthcoming within a week or so then I will go public with it in the trade forums as MFI are not, like anyone else in my eyes, above reproach. If they deserve a kicking then by God theyβll get it.
As I have told them, they get trade discounts on rates based on call volumes and a balance of product and areas. Alter that balance and the rates also alter, upwards if it is not in my favour otherwise, they know where the door is.

It gets better, phoned the customer in question to book in her dishwasher for tomorrow morning and she tells us MFI is coming in the afternoon to repair her washing machine.
Still waiting for a call back from Jim Frew.BTW I spoke to the new top man back in December and see that he has stuck his email and phone number on the lastest service info sheet that we received yesterday. So if you want to harrass someone in power……… π

Yeah I sent him a copy of the email as well, never spoken to the guy.
Rejected a call today so the message hasn’t gotten through yet.

JohnDo you know what gets me about that? I’ve never had any information sheets at all from them. I was not aware of AIG until after a raft of rejects, and who the bloody hell is Jim Frew?
Never seen a service bulletin, list of who’s who, what the rates are likely to be, T&C’s naff all.
Yet they can find me when they want something done.

He is the last remaining service manager and was at the same level as Bernie Seaman and Ray Woolger. Got his number in the office if you want it.

Think I need to set up a rapport.
Will give them a tug in a day or two and see where I get, and moreover, what I can get.
