    They are:-
    Neff U1421BOGB/01 and U1421WOGB/01

Please come back with the info on these modified parts; thanks!!! Have had another Neff failure booked in today for Thursday. 🙄

Should have listened to my old dad when he said “Get yourself a proper job, son!! 😆

Fitted a new fan motor to one of these today and notcied the fan has now got a ring of holes in it which are new, not seen one like that before anyhow. Maybe some connection with the life of the elements? Mind you the fan motors are not that reliable either.

Been fitting these for good nine months, as yet have not had to replace one of new type.
I think the holes help to keep the shaft cooler thus not ‘cooking’ the front motor bearing. (pardon the pun)

    Re: Neff fan oven elements

Are these holes drilled all the way through the fan blade or just semi as normally they are just made to balance any weight imperfections to stop vibration ?

they are drilled right through the fan blade, six if I remember correctly approx 5mm dia., (too cold to go and look in the van right now)

The fan on the bosch oven I changed the half moon element on yesterday had holes in it. I was rather glad of them as well. The top fixing screw for the element is behind the fan. 😥 I had to heat the fan with my blow lamp to loosen it, then poke my long nosed pliers through the holes so that I could pull off the fan without burning my fingers.

Don`t know how much discount you guys get from BSH but these elements(493065) are £25:10+vat from Masterpart , but out of stock unfortunately.
You might save yourselves a couple of quid.

If you take nut and lock washer off then grip shaft 😯 with pliers; turn fan blade at same time round and round and 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time the fan will pull off.

This one was the 1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} 😉 If I had held the shaft with the force needed I would have damaged the thread, it was stuck tight all right.

In that case get a long pozi and get behind fan by pressing down on it and remove that soddin screw 😆 .
When replacing dont bother replacing that top screw as that element aint goin anywhere. Done loads no problem doesnt bend shaft etc 😉

    Greg

PS only seems to jam on the built under double ovens 😕

I put a small squirt of WD40 on the shaft/fan , leave it for 5 minutes , then as you say Greg hold the shaft and turn the fan a few times 💡 .
