That may well be the case Fase I’m afraid. 🙁

So far though, touch wood, I haven’t had any probs with genuine Lux elements funnily enough. Though, having said that, I expect the phone will ring at any moment from someone I’ve fitted one to recently! :rolls:

I fitted one of these elements today and have some good news and some bad news for you. Which do you want first?

Errr, well having just watched the cheating French B******s beat Ireland with a blatant handball from Tierry Henry ( once an Arsenal cheat, always…) I would like the good news please Geoff.

Well, I don’t know anything about that sort of stuff but here’s the good news:

    The fan came off easily.

Go on. Why did you need to take the fan off?

I’m guessing the new element was duff. ❓

Because the top retaining screw is blocked by the fan.

Roly will tell us that the new one ran for 5 minutes then went “pop”.

Only ever did one of these. Years ago.(Genuine, still going!) Don’t see many Neff round ‘ere.

Not quite that bad. The fan came off easily because the old element (Connect) had only been on for 5 months. The one before that (Qualtex) had only been on for 1 month. 😥

When the fan just absolutely won’t come off I drill a hole in the fan to access the screw.
Then drill an identical hole on the opposite side to balance the fan.

Makes the job easier on the return visits too 😉

    Re: Neff fan oven elements

    Cowboy tip of the day,

When I started back fixing cookers 5 yrs ago I got lots of callbacks from Neff/Bosch ovens.
If its a Neff 2 loop that keeps going down then I would fit a Zanussi 3 turn.

If its the 1/2 moon element I always remove the centre bracket, sprise the element apart to give a bigger gap, put some nuts as spacers between the back panel and rear wall.
Not been back to a neff for 2yrs, happy days.
