In that case get a long pozi and get behind fan by pressing down on it and remove that soddin screw 😆 .
When replacing dont bother replacing that top screw as that element aint goin anywhere. Done loads no problem doesnt bend shaft etc 😉PS only seems to jam on the built under double ovens 😕
It was a built under double oven, bear in mind I was fitting a non gen element, the customer is moving to France in three weeks so didn’t want to pay for gen element. If I had left the top screw out it the fan would have hit the element, you know how badly formed a large number of pattern elements are 😥February 9, 2006 at 7:16 pm #162051iadom

Nah Greg , small squirt , give it a good wipe down , leave it to run on low heat for 5 mins and all clear.
Each to their own I suppose.

Unfortunately, we’ve still not got to the root of the problem of these Mickey Mouse elements. Martin mentioned almost immediately there were mods for these ovens to sort out our woes.
Any info on the mods greatly appreciated – need an answer!!! 😕
Hope someone can help! :haier:February 10, 2006 at 12:56 am #162055Penguin45

Interesting how this is developing – I fit these elements quite regularly and have had no problems.

Chris.Which element are you using Chris ❓
I use ELE4080 , (14-NF-13 from SEME@£5:85)on Neff ovens where I can and don`t have any real problem with them.I do get the odd one failing in guarantee but nothing too severe.
I always give the area behind the back plate a good wipe down to get rid of the powdery residue and rub down any metal work damaged by the flare up.Bryan

Qtex ELE6254 – the studs have screw threads which undo easily allowing use in different machines.

There you go then aqua , give that one a try 😀 . ELE6254 or perhaps you already have ❓
BTW is that identical to ELE4080 apart from the two , as opposed to one , studs which are easily removable ❓

Go on, ask me how long a brand new genuine (494643) half moon element lasted when I fitted one recently? 😕
OK, to save you giving a bu&&er…… I’ll tell you……….. 🙁
30 seconds!!!! :rolls:
Brand friggin’ new, straight out of the cardboard packing and screwed into place nicely, fan back on, backplate screwed up, reset the oven clock and switch on, set to 150 degrees to test, fan spinning like a good ‘un, nice bit of heat being shed….then POP!!!!
Deep lasting joy, I’m done with fitting these sodding things…..!!!!! 👿
